How to Unlock All Tonics in Destiny 2
Tonics are the special episodic mechanic for Lot 2‘s episode Revenant, the second in Bungie’s post-Final shape epilogue releases. These Tonics allow you to target certain pieces of equipment on the farm (giving you bonus loot of your chosen type) and they can also improve your artifact benefits for the season, making your build even more powerful. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of work and resources to unlock all the Revenant Tonics.
In this Lot 2 guide, we will guide you through it how to unlock tonics and give you one complete list of all Tonics you can craft.
How to Unlock Tonics in Destiny 2
Tonics branch off from each other, starting with uncommon, moving to rare, and then to Legendary. There are two Exotic Tonics you can craft, but you unlock the ability to do this by collecting the Intrinsic upgrades for the Slayer’s Fang shotgun in the Exotic mission “Kell’s Fall”.
To all “Undiscovered formula“Tonics, you just need to buy lower level Tonics. To craft five unusual Tonics unlocks a rare Tonic in the same branch and crafting four rare Tonics unlocks a legendary in the industry. The only catch is that for Tonics that have multiple branches you can unlock, every four or five you buy you get access to a random Tonic.
For example, if you want to get bonus drops from Season of the Splicer’s Gridskipper pulse rifle, you might want to unlock the Tonic of Gridskipper in the Tomb Gear Tonic track. To do that, you would want to purchase five unusual Tonic of Tomb Gear potions. Doing this will unlock it randomly or the tonic of grave weapons or Tonic of vintage grave weapons.
For the sake of example, let’s say you unlocked the Tonic of Tomb Weaponry, which is not the Tonic that Tonic of Gridskipper branches off from. You need Tonic from Vintage Tomb Weaponry. To get what you actually want, you’ll need to craft five more Tonic of Tomb Gear potions to unlock the Tonic of Vintage Tomb Weaponry, and then craft four of those to unlock one of three legendary Tonics that branch off from it – a of which is Gridskipper.
If you’re looking for a specific Tonic, you’ll have some luck with the draw system, where you gamble with different resources (which you can learn where to find via the Tonic Capsule in the game) until you find the Tonics you want. But if you just want to unlock all the tonics to complete Eido’s fieldwork, just craft each uncommon tonic until you’ve unlocked all the rare tonics in that category, and then craft each rare until you’ve unlocked all the legendary tonics that come from them.
Just a fair warning that the rare resources will be your bottleneck in this process, as you need one for every rare Tonic you need to make. Be prepared to play a lot of Revenant activities if you want to unlock all the Tonics.
