If A rogue trader story unfolds, you have the opportunity to recruit allies to help you. While you can't engage in flirty dialogue with all of them, the few that are available are quite unique and offer you special scenes once you convince them of your feelings.
In this Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader guide, we'll describe the companions you can romance, and show you how to romance those companions.
All Rogue Trader Romance Options
As you make your way through the story of A rogue trader, you can recruit more companions for your crews. While we haven't found all the characters you can romance yet, we do know that you can romance the following:
- Cassia
- Heinrix
- Jae Heydari
How romance works in Rogue Trader

First, while there is romance in it A rogue traderit is very different from other games like Baldur's Gate 3 in which characters openly discuss their relationship in very explicit dialogue. The world of A rogue trader is a world of suspicion, political intrigue and betrayal. Therefore, it is not always clear that one dialogue option will unfold into a more flirtatious option.
The rule of thumb for romance in this game is: Read each dialogue option carefully. Also consider the kind of ideas and beliefs the characters follow and choose dialogue options that could represent them.
Another important aspect of romance in A rogue trader is that you can't force romantic interactions. The dialogue options don't change often in the game, so after you first mention how beautiful Cassia is, it'll be a while before you can take some more action. Moments of intimacy between characters are events that are randomly triggered during the game. You may travel to another system and a scene begins where one of your romantic partners appears in your room or asks for a private conversation.
Can you romance multiple companions in Rogue Trader?
Finally, yes, you can romance more than one character A rogue trader at the same time. The only restriction is gender. While some characters will enter into romantic relationships with male and female characters, others will not. They may give you the chance to flirt with them, but they won't necessarily accept you as their partner.
With all that in mind, here's how to romance companions A rogue trader.
How to Romance Cassia in Rogue Trader

Cassia Orsellio is the first character you can recruit to your team in Chapter 1. To do this, you must complete the quest 'Secrets of the Navis Nobilite', which itself is part of the quest 'Looking for Trouble'. During the quest you must convince her to come aboard your empty ship. Regardless of the method you choose, she will eventually accept it.
After completing the quest and going through a scene where you talk to Cassia about a ritual, it's time to make your move. Once you're on the ship deck, talk to Cassia, who is in the southern part of the map.
For the romance of Cassia, make sure you are a male Rogue Trader. Then talk to her and choose the dialogue options below:
- “Tell me something about yourself.”
- “Sorry, Cassia, but I'd like to know more about you personally, not your family.”
- “Your third eye – do you always hide it?”
- “You're beautiful, Cassia. Don't let anyone or anything convince you otherwise.”
- “I wouldn't date to make fun of a lady's feelings, especially one who has captivated me since I first saw her.”
And that's it! If you end the conversation and choose the option “Why don't we talk about something else?” option, you'll return to the first list of dialogue options and see a new one that says, “Let's talk about us, okay?” This indicates that you are now in a romantic relationship with Cassia.
How to romance Heinrix in Rogue Trader

In chapter 1 you will find Heinrix from Calox during the “Gleam of the Final Dawn” mission. Once inside the monastery, explore the first rooms to find the Interrogator of the Ordo Xenos. Xeinrix will only start a romantic relationship with a female Rogue Trader.
After the battle against Aurora, the dialogue options you need to choose are:
- (Lore (Xenos)) (Inspect the control panel damaged by Aurora)
- Get on
- Get on
- (Dogmatic) “Heinrix, look here. Is this what you're looking for by any chance?”
The first option is a test and passing it is fundamental to open the fourth line of dialogue. When this conversation is over, return to the void ship where a scene begins where Heinrix will talk to you.
In this next conversion you will need to choose the following dialog options:
- “Thank you. The Inquisition's generosity is greatly appreciated.”
- “Talking to you is no less disturbing to me, Master of Calox.”
- “You misunderstand me. I'm not nervous about your status, but about you personally.”
How to Romance Jae in Rogue Trader

You can recruit Jae Heydari during Chapter 2, and you can romanticize her as a male or female Rogue Trader. To unlock her as a companion, you must first complete the quests “Persona Non Grata” and “Wanted on Footfall”.. Some of the dialogue choices you make during these two quests are very important in having her on your team and having a chance to romance her. This unlocks her as a possible companion.
During the quest “Persona Non Grata” you must choose the following dialogue options:
- “What do you need help with?”
- 'I suspect Vladaym wants to keep the cargo out of your hands. And I want to put him in his place.”
These are the dialogue options you need to choose in the 'Wanted on Footfall' mission, after the battle:
- “Jae Heydari, the owner of this shipment, is currently under my protection – under the protection of a rogue trafficker. Tell your master to think twice before meeting her from now on.”
- Get on.
- “A rogue trader could use someone with your talents and connections, Jae. I would like to see you in my entourage.”
- “I wish we could completely forget about decorum in each other's presence…”
Now that Jae is part of your team, you can find her on the void bridge. Talk to her for the first time and choose the following dialogue options:
- “Was there anything you wanted to discuss?”
- Get on.
- “Really a wonderful gift. I accept it with gratitude.”
- “Continue.”
- “That sounds simple enough. I will help you.”
Once this conversation is over, you can leave back to the void bridge and talk to her again. These are the dialogue lines you should use:
- “You don't look like a typical smuggler.”
- “Why did you choose to come to the Koronus Plain?”
- “How did you escape Efreet?”
- “Judging by your implants, you've had quite a few shaves over the years.”
- “Thank you for sharing this.”
- “You'll forgive my prying eyes, but has the heart of the esteemed princess been claimed by some lucky guy?”
- “I like being with you. I would like us to spend more time together.”
- 'I don't see you as a toy. I just like you…”
- (falls to one knee) “My stunning one, can I trust that you hold at least the tiniest drop of respect for me in your heart?”
- 'I invite you to dinner. About a decent wine. I'm sure we'll find a fruitful topic of conversation.'
With that, you can find a new dialogue option when talking to Jae, who says, “We need to discuss what's going on between us,” making your relationship official.
