A teacher is praised for sharing her simple home hack to remove unwanted oil stains from clothes.

The 28-year-old woman from Melbourne had a PE Nation jersey that was riddled with splatters of oil stains from foods such as olive oil, which are difficult to remove.

But with a handy bottle of eucalyptus oil, she managed to remove the stains like ‘magic’.

“This is for anyone who has oil on their clothes, washed it and thought they should throw it away,” she said in a TikTok. video under the username @thefoxesden__.

To remove the stubborn stains, the Melbourne teacher simply covered the stains with the eucalyptus oil and washed the sweater with detergent as usual (before and after pictured)

Others shared their own DIY remedies, claiming that both dish soap and dry shampoo work on the oil as well.

How to use eucalyptus oil to remove oil stains from clothes

1. Use a water dropper with a spoon or syringe to apply oil to the oil stains

2. Wash as usual with your regular detergent

3. Dry and wear

Earlier mother of two Chantel Mila shared her method to remove oil stains.

She recommends sticking a piece of cardboard behind the spot of your stain on the shirt first so your laundry doesn’t seep all the way through to the back.

Then apply dish soap to “break down oil and grease.”

Chantel loves the Macro Living dish soap in Mandarin & Citrus from Woolworths, which costs just $4.50.

“Sprinkle bicarb soda to get the stain out of the fabric,” Chantel continued TikTok.

“Then use a shoe brush to work it into the fabric.”

Once this is done, Chantel said you should let the solution sit for five to 10 minutes and then put the item in the washing machine as usual.

“The stain should be gone by the time it comes out,” the mother said.
