The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom adds more verticality to the highly anticipated sequel with the addition of sky islands. However, we all ask ourselves: how do we get up there? Tears of the Kingdom comes with new abilities that let you get creative with how you travel. You can now rewind time, craft vehicles and even fly through the ceiling to reach higher areas. These skills will lead you straight to the sky islands or leave you just high enough to paraglide to your destination.
Read on to find out how to get to the Sky Islands The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom based on footage from Nintendo’s gameplay demonstration and official trailers.
Think of falling debris
The first method shown during Nintendo’s March 28, 2023 gameplay demonstration is to use your Recall ability, which allows you to rewind an object’s movement. In this case, you can use Recall on the fallen rock to carry yourself into the air, then paraglide to one of the nearby air islands. Keep an eye out for crashed objects on the ground as they could be your lift to a sky island.
Build an airplane or flying device
Footage from the second officer Tears of the Kingdom trailer shows Link riding a hot air balloon and a hovercraft. From what we know now after Aonuma’s gameplay demonstration, these vehicles don’t naturally exist in Hyrule; they are made with Ultrahand, a new skill in Tears of the Kingdom allowing you to merge objects. Collect some building materials and craft a plane to reach the islands in the sky.
Ascend to higher ground
Another skill has been added The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is Ascend, which allows you to phase through the ceiling to get to the floor above. Of course, this won’t take you directly to a sky island, but Ascend can be used to get higher on the ground or another sky island and then paraglide to a lower sky island.
These are not the only ways to get to Sky Islands The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom because there are more undiscovered methods. We’ll update this post later with all the methods once we get our hands on them Tears of the Kingdom.
