A foodie has revealed six lesser-known “hacks” when cooking or baking — like how to keep pots of water from boiling over on the stove using a kitchen staple.
Armen Adamjan, better known as Creative Explained, shared a short and snappy video detailing his tips with his 3.8 million Instagram followers.
I find smart kitchen hacks quite useful! Maybe you too,” he captioned the entertaining clip.
To keep water from boiling over a pan, Armen said to simply smear butter around the inside edge of the rim. The water does not come through the oily butter layer.

In the video, he went on to outline his other “useful” tips.
Armen varied the position of his wine glasses to fit more in his kitchen cupboard.
One glass was placed all the way up, the next upside down, and so on. This trick not only fits in storage more, it also looks more chic.
Then he shared a simple trick to clean silverware with two ingredients.
He placed his teaspoons in a bowl, sprinkled a fair amount of baking soda over it, and added vinegar.
A chemical reaction takes place as the two fizz together and remove all stains. His cutlery kept looking sparkling new.
Armen also shared how to prevent food from sticking to a pan.
“If food sticks to your stainless steel pan, it’s because it wasn’t ‘ready to receive it,'” he said.
To make sure the pan was hot enough, he advised doing a ‘water test’.
“Splash some water into the hot pan and if it evaporates, it’s not done,” he said, adding, “If the water wobbles, it’s done.”
Homemade pickles can also be made with leftover pickle juice. Simply slice a cucumber and place it in the pickle juice.
After about a week, the cucumber turns into pickles.
The video has since been viewed more than 1.8 million times and many have thanked Armen for sharing his knowledge.
“This is amazing,” one wrote, another added, “Thanks for the education, I had no idea!”
“I’ll try the butter trick SO,” said another.
Others said to place a wooden spoon over the pot to keep the water from boiling over.
