The making of a small or big balloon in Lego Fortnite and attaching it to a dynamic platform is the easiest way to get high – which is useful if you want to use your glider, for example. But just like a glider, making a balloon requires a lot of midgame infrastructure.

Our Lego Fortnite guide explains how to make a balloon and everything you need to build before you can make one.

Before you go too far with making balloons, you should know that balloons (and other vehicle parts like wheels and thrusters) don't drop resources when you destroy them. The resources just disappear.

How to use a balloon in Lego Fortnite

The simplest use of a balloon is to simply attach it to a balloon dynamic foundation (4 flexwood). With just these two ingredients you have a simple hot air balloon that will take you straight up (just make sure you're standing on the foundation when you attach the balloon – we learned this the hard way). The problem is that your balloon just stays in the air.

You can, if you want, have one activation switch (1 wood And 1 blasting powder) and a small bow thruster (1 wooden rod, 1 blasting powderAnd 1 torch) or two. When you press the switch, your balloon will shoot away in the direction the thruster is pointing. Right now there are no steering wheels in Lego Fortnite, so if you want to choose the direction you go, you'll have to get creative.

You can lower a balloon by building on the platform and adding weight. For one large balloon and one dynamic platform, you'll need to build about 10 4x4x2 foundations to drop it all the way back to the ground.
