Before you can make a backpack extension Envelopedyou must find and awaken the Hunter as part of the quest ‘Hunter Becomes The Hunted’.

You’ll find her in the aptly named Old safe – Hunter a good road northeast of the Cinder safe and east of the Old spire – Springlands Fast Travel tower

Collect salt in the salt mine

To make the backpack extension you will need dried fur, torn clothAnd string. Dried fur takes more work than the other two.

Once the Hunter is placed, you’ll get a new quest called “Salt Mine Location” which, brace yourself, will show you the location of a salt mine. In particular the Egerton Salt Mines west-northwest of the Old spire – Springlands Fast Travel tower.

Make the small backpack

Talk to the hunter and make one drying rack (10 logs And 6 strings). Drop 1 animal fur And 3 salty into it, and you shall have it 1 dried coat

Once you’ve made a few dried coats, you can make the small backpack (3 torn cloth, 4 dried coatsAnd 5 strings) that increases your inventory by 8 slots when you equip it in the Character Menu.
