How to get the Phantom Armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Survive what has become of Hyrule The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is no easy feat – especially if you don’t need to upgrade any of your armor just yet. Fortunately, there is an armor with a base defense of +8 per Unitand it even increases your attack: the Phantom armor. Defense, it seems, really is the best offense.

Us Tears of the Kingdom The Phantom Armor guide will help you find all three parts of the Phantom armor set: the Phantom helmet, Phantom armorAnd Phantom greaves.

Location of Phantom Armor Headpiece

Each of the three pieces can be found in a treasure chest in Hyrule – you don’t have to worry about going into the depths or the Sky Islands, although this first piece does require us to take to the skies.

Starting at Popla Foothills Skyview Tower or the Utsushok Shrine in southern Hyrule, head southeast past the Highland Stable towards Puffer Beach. It is the stretch of beach in the middle of the southern coastline.

Once you are on Puffer Beach, go to the following coordinates: (0293, -3848, 0004). It will look like a very ordinary stretch of beach apart from the Zonai rockets placed casually to the right of the pool below. You’ll want to grab one, fuse it to your shield, and then return to this spot.

If you haven’t done this before, the next step will blow your mind. Look up and you should see some deposits of luminescent stones. Stand below this and equip your shield. To infinity and beyond!

That was fun. Welcome to Puffer Beach Air Cave – the location of your first armor. Slide down to the floor of the cave and get your bow ready, because there’s one there Silver Horriblin waiting for you in the hallway. However, a quick headshot from your bow should make short work of it.

Once the enemies are taken out, head to the back of the cave where you’ll find this treasure shrine. It is a small cave and very hard to miss.

Open the chest and get your first piece of loot, the Phantom helmet, which gives +8 defense and an attack boost. (Optional: While you’re here, look up, shoot the Bubbulfrog and catch the Bubble Gem. This isn’t necessary for this armor set, of course, but you’ll want to grab it while you’re here.)

Location of Phantom Armor chest piece

This piece of armor is considerably harder to get than the other two, both because of the enemies and the size of the cave.

First the location: go to the Gerudo Higlands Skyview Tower and open your map. Do you see the river that ends northeast of you? That ends in the Tamio river downstream cave. Pin that down, fly up the tower and then glide to your destination. Once you’re there, save.

Again, this cave is guarded by Horriblins, but these are easier to take out if you’re quick. These Horriblins, who cannot swim, are conveniently located above a pool of water. If a shot to the head doesn’t kill them, falling into the water will. There are two here – send them both and then loot the room.

Continue south and you will see the cave fork. On the right is another Bubbulfrog. Grab it and then return to the fork.

On the left is the tricky part of this treasure hunt. The path ends up in a cave that looks like this. You will see the treasure ahead. This is another good place to save.

Crawl forward and look down the cliff and you’ll come across Gloom Hands.

Remember, if you beat it, you’ll also have to face Phantom Ganon. If you can’t beat him, read on and get ready to sprint. It’s doable, but it’s tough.

There are two ways to get to this chest: from the front and from the back. Entering the cave, we look at the back.

The first thing we tried was climbing the walls in a full set of Froggy Armor. This took three full endurance wheels, including one won by eating a meal halfway up the wall (as avid climbers, we strongly advise against this unless you’re strapped in or you’re Alex Honnold).

The more sensible route is to slide to the left of the shrine and follow the path to the right. If you look to the right, you will see that the wall is bricked up with breakable stones.

When running from Gloom Hands, fire a bomb dart. If not, save yourself the trouble and use Yunobo (if you have an avatar).

Follow the path up and grab your hard-earned treasure: the Phantom armor chestpiece, which boosts your attack and gives +8 defense.

Phantom Armor legs piece location

Unlike the last piece of armor, you don’t have to worry about serious injury getting this armor – at least if you follow the guide properly.

Go to the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, or the Siwakama Shrine to the south if you have one. However, if you go through the Skyview Tower, you can see our destination and pin the right hole.

Just above Link’s head in the above shot, you’ll see what appear to be small dimples in the sand. These small swirls of sand are entrances to the ancient altar ruins. Go to the one highlighted below. If you want coordinates, it’s the vortex directly to the south when you stand by it (-2525, -3705, 0009).

Note: If you fall into the wrong one, you’ll end up in the actual ruins. This is a great place to farm Gibdo Bones And Electric Chuchu jelly, so you can choose to do this anyway. When you do, you’ll see the room we’re looking for, helpfully indicated by this statue.

If you do fall into the wrong hole, look at the room and pin it To take off your way out.

If you jump into the correct hole, you will see the following.

Finally, note that you cannot upgrade this armor set – it’s perfect just the way it is.
