How to get the Mystic Armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomyou can grab the beautiful Mystical armor set by Koltin de Bubbul gems found in caves.

While extremely beautiful, the outfit’s defense numbers are low – and cannot be upgraded. The defense numbers don’t matter much though, because while wearing the armor, you don’t lose hearts when monsters attack you. However, you will lose rupees instead of.

Location of Mystic Armor set

After initially finding Koltin and Kilton and saying “The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!” you can find Koltin’s stall near Tarrey Town. You can also find it in other areas, such as near Snowfield Stable, but Tarrey Town is the easiest to get to, as it’s parked almost right next to Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower. His cabins are only set up at night, so you can rest in a bed or sit by a campfire to pass the time if you need to.

Once you find him, you’ll need to exchange Bubbul Gems (the sparkly snowflake rupee things you get from Bubbulfrogs in caves) for the armor. You don’t get the armor right away, because he gives you other rewards, such as monster masks and material in between.

You get the armor pieces by giving him the following number of Bubbul Gems in total:

  • Mystical Cloak: 8 Bubbul Gems
  • mystic pants: 21 Bubbul Gems
  • mystical mask: 46 Bubbul Gems

Once you get the headgear, that’s it for rewards from Koltin, but he still wants more Bubbul Gems and he’ll tell you how many Bubbulfrogs are left in Hyrule.

If you’re having a hard time finding Bubbul Gems, ask a friendly Satori at cherry blossom trees to mark nearby caves with pillars of light. As soon as you enter a cave for the first time, it will be marked on your map. If the cave has a small tick, it means you’ve found the Bubbulfrog inside. If not, you better explore it a bit more to find the glowing friend (?).

Mystic Armor upgrade cost, set bonus and effect

Since the Mystic Armor is not upgradeable, there is no additional 2-star set bonus.

The number of rupees lost is linked to the damage you take. With all three pieces equipped, getting hit by a regular Keese or Blue Bokoblin lost us 10 rupees per hit, but getting hit by a Flame Gleeok’s breath of fire lost us a whopping 350 rupees. That said, unless you’re on a hefty pile of rupees, this may not be the armor you want to bring into battle.
