The Catalina skin is a reward for those who play Fortnite native on iOS and Android.
These are available via the “Mobile App Bonus Goals” series of missions and are available for the duration of Chapter 5 Season 4 (which features a variety of Marvel-themed maps and weapon pools and Battle Pass skins, including Doctor Doom).
While these quests are visible to all players, the ability to complete them — and thereby unlock the Katalina skin — is limited to certain mobile devices and/or regions. This page explains what you need to do to qualify.
It’s worth noting that the Katalina skin will be sold to all players possiblyso this isn’t your only chance to get it if you don’t have the right gear – even if you have to pay V-Bucks for it.
How to Complete the ‘Mobile App Bonus Goals’ Missions in Fortnite
The “Mobile App Bonus Goals” are a series of missions where you Fortnite native on iOS (specifically iPhones and not iPads) or Androideither through the Epic Games Store App or the AltStore PAL marketplace.
The Epic Games Store app is available worldwide for Android. The Epic Games Store app and AltStore PAL marketplace are only available for download on iOS devices in the EU.
For iOS users, just to clarify: If you live in North America, the UK, or a country outside the EU, you will not be able to download and then play the Epic Games Store app Fortnite natively. For iOS EU users, you can check out the exact list of eligible areas at Apple Support Site(As an aside, if you live in the UK or Japan, there are plans to support those two areas from mid-2025, though that’s long after the “Mobile App Bonus Goals” missions have expired.)
If you are not completely suretrying to install Fortnite (see the next section for more information) is a way to quickly determine whether you can play natively on your device.
If you Are on a suitable device and can install Fortnite native, then the process of completing the “Mobile App Bonus Goals” is simple — you just need to get XP. By earning a total of 100,000 XP, you’ll unlock the Tactical Kat Wrap, Kat Claws Pickaxe, Katalina’s Kit Bag Back Bling, and finally the Katalina Outfit.
How to Install Fortnite on iOS and Android
You can play Fortnite on iOS and Android by installing the Epic Games Store app (or AltStore PAL marketplace, if you’re looking for an alternative for iOS users in the EU).
To start, visit fortnite.com/download on your mobile device browser. From there you will know immediately if your device can install one of the above marketplaces, and in turn, Fortnite.
If you can installthen you will be guided through the different steps to get your marketplace where Fortnite can be downloaded, which are also listed on the website Official Epic BlogIf this is a bit of a pain, it’s something Epic itself acknowledges, pointing to Apple and Google for “deliberately delivering poor setup experiences that are fraught with multiple steps, confusing device setups, and scary screens,” according to our report on the mobile store’s launch.
If you can’t installknow you can still play Fortnite on a mobile device in any region via streaming, such as via Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, or locally via PlayStation Remote Play if it is installed on your PS4 or PS5. However, playing via streaming does not do count towards the “Mobile App Bonus” goals — only “native” versions of the game installed on the device.
As mentioned, if your intended purpose of installing Fortnite On mobile, completing the “Mobile App Bonus” goals and getting the Katalina skin will be sold to all players in time — so even if you can’t get it for free, you can eventually get it.
