How to get scarletite in Final Fantasy 16

While visiting Blackthorne at the Hideaway in FinalFantasy 16you’re probably trying to craft the gear of the Drakeslayer or the Excalibur, but realize you’re missing something scarlet. Getting Scarletite might be a bit trickier than you think, as you’ll need to track down some of the infamous markers on the hunt board or complete a side mission in Dhalmekia. Read on to find out how to get scarlet And how to use.


Scarletite locations in FF16

Scarletite is one of the rewards for defeating a few infamous markers – Dozmare, “A Hill to Die On”, And The Ten of Clubs. If you are not a fan of hunting, you can also use the “Hot waterside quest. We’ve discovered that scarlet is a reward for these hunts and side missions, but there may be a few more we haven’t discovered. We will update this post with more scarletite locations as we discover them.

The Dozmare (Griffin) Hunt is unlocked during the “Blacksmith’s Blues‘side quest, which is given to you by August in the Shelter after you “Black light is onmain scenario quest.

The Dozmare (Griffin) is a level 28 B grade yacht located at the south of the Caer Norvent River Gate in Sanbreque. The fastest way to reach the griffin is to teleport to the Lostwing obelisk and take a long trek to the southeast. It will be a bit difficult to spot the griffin as it is perched on the stone walls, so get as close to the wall as possible to start the cutscene.

The hunt “A Hill to Die On” is unlocked during the main scenario quest “Riddle of the Sands”.

The Fastitocalon is a level 34 B rank hunt in the northeast corner of the Velkroy Desert in Dhalmekia where the nearest teleport waypoint is the Obelisk of the Velkroy Desert. The “A Hill to Die On” hunt will reward you two scarlet instead of one, so be sure to knock down the Fastitocalon!

The Ten of Clubs hunting location

The Ten of Clubs Hunt is unlocked after completing the “Fire in the skymain scenario quest.

The Ten of Clubs is a level 35 B-rank hunt for the Vamare in Dhalmekia. The nearest waypoint is The Jaw Obelisk, but even that is pretty far off. You have to go through The Jaw and The Sickle to get the Fields of Coravaand then head to the southern ruins to find the Ten of Clubs.

‘Hot Water’ side quest location

Around the “Hot water” side quest, you must first complete the “Follow the crystalssubquest, which is part of the ‘The riddle of the sandmain scenario quest. Talk to Xaver into the baths Dhalmekia to start the side mission. In this side mission you have to defeat multiple bombs at the marked location on the map. Once you defeat the bombs, return to Xaver to receive a Scarletite as a reward.


What is scarletite used for in FF16?

Once you have Scarletite, go back to the Hideaway and talk to Blackthorne. You can use the craft material to make the Drakeslayer’s Belt, Drakeslayer’s braceletsand the Excalibur. You need one scarletite for each of the pieces listed above, so start hunting the said hunts or complete the sidequest!
