You’ll find Gallowvine all over Sanctuary – in each of the five zones.

If you’re not already in the habit, you’ll want to jump off your horse and grab all the herbs when you see them during the seasonal game. Your most reliable source for Gallowvine, Biteberry and all the others is to just pick them yourself when you see a patch.

Gallowvine grows near roads, so it is useful to find it along the way. It looks like one flattened shrub with pink flowers – which you can see in the image above. Each node usually yields about five Gallowvine, so you should be able to stock up fairly quickly. If you’re desperate for some, just hop on your horse and ride Kyovashad in Broken peaks. Stick to the weigh and you’ll find quite a few bundles of Gallowvine before you get all the way around.

If you have plenty of other herbs, but don’t feel like Gallowvine, you can also go to the Alchemist (usually only found in larger cities) and select the “Refine” menu option. Here you can swap other herbs for Gallowvine and vice versa. The exchange rate for this is one-to-one for Gallowvine, so it’s actually an incredible way to grow your stores if you’re right about everything else.

There are three main uses for Gallowvine, and you’ll likely encounter them all as you adventure through the Seasonal trip.

  1. The first and most important use of Gallowvine is to upgrade your Magic potion at the Alchemist. As you level up, you can improve the healing properties of your potion, but that will require an assortment of herbs. You’ll need Gallowvine for your potion upgrades until you reach level 70 and can unlock the Greater Healing Potion.
  2. Another important use for Gallowvine is for crafting Elixirsthat will help you improve your stats and – more importantly – give you a experience a boost for 30 minutes. Chances are you’ll be making a lot of elixirs to speed up your leveling in the early hours, and all low-level elixirs require a certain amount of Gallowvine.
  3. Finally, Gallowvine is the universal herb when it comes to trading more regional plants at the Alchemist. You can do that in the Refine menu trade five Gallowvine for Biteberry, Howler Moss, Lifesbane or any of the other low level herbs. Since this trade isn’t one-for-one, it’s probably not worth your Gallowvine, but it could save you some time if you’re in a pinch and don’t feel like looking for a specific herb yourself.
