How to get any stain out of your carpet in minutes using two products

One woman shared an easy way to remove almost any stain from a carpet – and this hack will have your carpets looking like new in minutes.

Sonja from Queensland was close to tears when a pen she was using suddenly leaked and dripped into her mother’s new wool rug.

The woman immediately panicked and couldn’t think of a way to solve the problem – when she remembered a carpet cleaning hack she’d seen online.

Sonja quickly grabbed some methylated spirits and paper towels and began to soak and dab the area until the stain was gone.

She then proceeded to dab the area with warm water, then used a hair dryer to make sure no stains would show up once the area was dry.

Sonja shared her moment of panic and eventual triumph online.

“I’m currently visiting my parents and a pen I was using suddenly leaked and an ink stain dripped onto their new wool rug,” she said.

“But I got some spirit and paper towels and got to work until there was no visible ink left on the paper towel.

“I then dabbed the wet area really well and dried the carpet with a hair dryer until it was perfectly dry. No one will ever know!’

Many applauded her for successfully removing the stain, and others shared additional tips and tricks.

‘Using hairspray and then dabbing with kitchen paper until the ink is gone also works!’ wrote a woman.

“Another trick to make sure it’s dry inside is to lay out a paper towel with a heavy book on it and then leave it for a few hours,” said another.

‘Wow, great work!’ wrote a mother. “I need to buy some spirit.”
