As you explore Vernworth you will eventually come across Mildred – who hangs out on the street near the Stardrop Inn. As you pass her, she will catch your eye and ask if you would like to borrow her house for a week. This will start the “A place to call home” scavenger hunt.

All you have to do here is talk to Mildred at her house and then wait a week for her to return. You can sleep in the house as much as you want during this time – completely free of charge – and even use the storage box.

When Mildred returns from her adventure a week later, she tells you that she hopes to move, and offers to sell you her house for a bargain: 20,000 gold. If you say yes, she will violate the deed and leave town. Congratulations, homeowner! You no longer have to rent a room every time you return to Vernworth.


How do I get a second home in Vernworth?

In the Noble Quarter you can buy a second home, if you can afford it. On the northern edge of the rich part of the city you will find a chic house with a person in front of it. Talk to them and you can buy the mansion 200,000 gold. But with this house you don’t get anything else. Just status.


How to get a house in Bakbattahl in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Buying the house in Bakbattahl is much easier than Mildred’s quest in Vernworth, albeit a little more expensive.

Just now West of the Residential area in Bakbattahl, called a beast woman Address will approach you. She will offer to sell you a house in the city 30,000 gold.

Once you have the “Shadowy Prayers” search in Bakbattahl, you have the chance to buy another (much too expensive) house. Talk to the NPC south of the Flamebearer Palace and you can call it home for only one 300,000 gold.
