How to get a horse in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Horses appear inside The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Riding them will help you travel faster, but before you can try them out you’ll need to complete a few side missions: “Runaway Horse” and then “Impa’s gift.”
Us Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom The guide tells you where to find Hyrule Ranch and how to complete the side missions ‘Runaway Horse’ and ‘Impa’s Gift’ to claim Zelda’s horse.
Hyrule Ranch location in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Both horse-related side quests Echoes of wisdom take place at the Hyrule Ranch. You can reach it as soon as you explore the world early in the game, but to get Zelda’s horse you have to go to the center of the game.
How to get a horse and complete ‘Runaway Horse’
When you arrive at Hyrule Ranch for the first time you are told that you cannot borrow any of the horses because one of them has run away.
Talk to the man on the west side of the ranch to get the “Runaway Horse” sidequest. He will tell you to look west.
Exit the gate on the south side of the ranch and head west (left). From there, basically walk straight west. Just a screen or two ahead, you’ll see the missing horse on a rock pillar in a small pond.
Use a combination of Echoes and Bind to grab the horse and then carry it all the way back to the ranch.
Once the horse is returned, you can borrow horses from the ranch whenever you want.
How to complete ‘Impa’s Gift’ and summon a horse
After you complete the main story quest “Still missing” and close the rift at Hyrule Castle, Imp will be in the Throne Room with a side mission for you. Talk to her there and you’ll start the “Impa’s gift” sidequest.
Go back to Hyrule Ranch and back to the west side. Talk to the woman there. Shortly afterwards, the boy in charge of your horse comes running and points you to a new canyon nearby carrot patch.
When you arrive, jump into the Rift. You’ll have to find it four groups of Tri’s friends.
Go north and climb the vertical wall.
At the top, go left and cross the gap with one bed bridge (or whatever other echo you want to use) to find the first friends.
Continue left and descend to the floating island with four huge boulders on it. Usage Bind to move the boulders (or make them fall off the island). The northernmost one hides the second group of friends.
Continue down and around counterclockwise. When you get to the small clearing with crates, move the first one you come across to reveal a staircase.
At the bottom of the stairs, take out the bokoblins to find the third set of friends.
Continue east (right) until you reach a maze-like forest path with more crates. The easternmost chest hides your next ladder.
The first step in the mini-dungeon is to go all the way around counterclockwise. We moved the flat tree to the right column and then dropped a bed and a crate on it. That should get you to the top. Cross to the left and jump on the button.
Back at the bottom, move the flat tree back to the left side (or call up an echo of it). Drive it up and then start smashing the crates there caromadillo or bombfish (or the Swordfighter form bombs). Once you’re done, grab the last group of friends and close the gap.
Outside, Zelda’s horse will still be hiding. Usage Bind on a carrot to lure hair back and complete it “Impa’s gift.”
Make sure you grab another carrot with Bind and then learn the Root ultrasound. This way you can summon your horse wherever you are (otherwise you’ll have to return to Hyrule Ranch every time you want a new horse).
