How to find a desert 'dry valley' biome in Lego Fortnite

After exploring grassland caves in Lego Fortnite, you'll need to head to the desert “dry valley” biome to get new materials, such as raw amber or specific enemy drops.

Those playing in sandbox mode can fly around and find these biomes quickly, but if you try to progress in survival mode you may struggle. Below we provide tips for finding the desert biome in Lego Fortnite.

How to find the desert in Lego Fortnite

Unfortunately, there are no specific indicators that point you to a desert biome from far away. You can climb high points, or try to build stairs all the way to the sky to look for a desert nearby, but if there isn't one near you, all you have to do is pick a direction and start walking. It sucks to say, but you just need patience to find those rock walls.

Some people have noted that walking in the direction opposite a snowy biome can lead you to the desert, but this hasn't worked 100% for me. I've encountered beaches using this method, so I can't confirm this is a working solution, but it can't hurt to try.

Ultimately, finding a desert in Lego Fortnite all depends on your seed. I've had a seed to go to terribly far south of the spawn point (like several maps away) to find the desert. I've also had seeds where a desert almost completely encircles my snow and grass biomes.

The desert biome is indicated by cacti, sand and high rock walls – you'll know it when you see it. (For visual reference, see the screenshot at the top of this post.) If you're super unlucky like me, you'll have to walk for a long time before you reach the desert, but don't give up.

How to prepare for the desert in Lego Fortnite

The desert has both hot and cold temperatures, so you may want to use charms or foods that give you temperature resistance. It will be hot during the day and cold at night – although admittedly my desert was only hot in certain areas. I was able to grab raw amber without gaining any heat resistance, and holding a torch was enough to gain cold resistance as night fell.

If your desert is a walk and a half away, like ours, bring plenty of food and tools so you can stay in the desert and work on as many materials as possible before returning.
