‘Find the Missing Prospectors’ rumor

From the meditation point (and workbench) of the Rambler’s Reach Outpost just outside the city gate, look towards the city and a little to the right. There’s a woman standing there by the building. Go talk to her and she’ll tell you “Find Missing Gold Diggers” rumor.

To investigate it, you have to go to the Drenched Cave. Fortunately, the entrance is just on the other side of the same meditation point Hunter’s Quarry.

Drenched Grotto grudge fight

Fighting the grudge isn’t easy by any means, but it’s possible – even this early in the game. The only real trick is knowing which attacks to watch for and what to do about them.

The most devastating attack of the rancor is a hasty grab. The grudge will pull back his left arm as he glows red and then run towards Cal to grab him. If you don’t get out of the way, the grudge will kill Cal and end the fight.

The best way to avoid this is just one dodge (or better yet, two) to the side. If you’re comfortable avoiding it, you can even follow up with a lightsaber slash or two.

The second unblockable attack is a ground pound. The grudge will glow red and raise both fists above its head. A few side dodges will get you out of the way, but it’s better to double jump and let the shock wave pass under you.

The most common attack of the rancor is two blows with its claws. It may or may not follow with two pitches sending out smaller shock waves. You can dodge both swipes without going too far, which puts you in a good position to follow up on a series of attacks – just be sure to dodge both swings.

But better than that, you can parry both to suppress the rancor block meters. If you get it all the way down, you’ll stagger the grudge and have a chance to land a few free hits.

There also is a cute easter egg attack you can do for a few more free hits. Use Force Pull to grab one of the various bones lying around the arena. When the rancor looks at you, force him to push the bone into his mouth. It won’t falter for long – and it only works once – but free hits are free hits.

Enter the battle slowly. Dodge the attacks you can, then land a few hits and then retreat to prepare for the next attack. Spread the grudge whenever you can and use the bot trick for a few extra hits. Be patient – rushing this fight is a sure way to get eaten.

Sodden Grotto grudge fight reward
