Elden Beast location in Elden Ring
The Elden Beast boss fight starts right after you beat Radagon of the Golden Order. This means that the fight will take place in the same area Leyndell, Ashen capital. The arena becomes available once you defeat two mandatory bosses in this area, Sir Gideon Ofnir and Hoarah Loux. Once you have access to the Elden throneyou can climb the stairs that take you to the place where the battle against Radagon and the Elden Beast takes place.
Elden Beast’s Weaknesses and How to Prepare
As you would expect from the final boss Elden Ring, the Elden Beast is a divine enemy. At least you should be level 150. But defeating a god is not an easy task and it depends not only on how high your level is, but also on how well prepared you are.
In general, good armor against Radagon will also work perfectly when facing Elden Beast, as both enemies attack you with holy spells. The Crucible tree set is still one of the best armors for this fight and uses incantations like the Divine fortress of the Lord is one of the best ways to prepare for this boss.
Unlike Radagon, the Elden Beast is quite resistant to fire damage. To fight this alien creature, you must prioritize physical damage of any kind. While you can’t affect them with bleeds or other damaging effects, a strong weapon is more than enough to damage the Elden Beast. You can also break their stance with heavy blows.
When it comes to receiving help to fight the Elden Beast, the only options available are multiplayer or Ashen spirits. It is extremely useful to have another player or summon to improve certain skills, so consider using them. There are no specific NPCs you can summon for this battle.
How to defeat the Elden Beast in Elden Ring
The Elden Beast boss fight is a long encounter, mainly due to the huge health bar and constant movement. More than once the boss will move to the other side of the arena just after you reach it. The chances you have to attack this time are less than compared to Radagon. So you have to approach this fight patiently.
Throughout the battle, Elden Beast repeats the same attacks – just a few with variations. Because of how big the boss is, most attack animations are long enough that you have time to react and dodge.
Once you get used to avoiding these attacks and survive enough time to attack when there is an opening, you will defeat the Elden Beast. Most of the combat is about survival, but learning the boss’s moves will teach you when to be more aggressive. Please note that depending on how quickly you lower the boss’s health bar, the Elden Beast will not use some of the abilities mentioned here.
For starters, the Elden Beast regularly swings a giant sword, either once or as a complete combo. Time your roll well to the other side of where the sword comes and avoid getting hit. After the final swing, the Elden Beast will remain stationary for a short while, allowing you to hit them once or twice.
Sometimes the Elden Beast’s sword is infused with holy magic and the boss will shoot magical blows at you. You can avoid these completely, but the timing is a bit tricky and it takes some training to get used to their speed.
The boss can also stab the sword on the ground and cause an explosion of holy magic. This attack can hit you twice. First when you stand in front of them and get hit by the sword, and later by the explosion. The best way to avoid this attack is to leave the area. You may want to try standing behind the boss when you’re nearby.
While these sword attacks are considerably dangerous, the Elden Beast is better known for its massive area-of-effect attacks. An easy one to avoid is the golden breath, which covers an area before the boss in fire. When you see them using this ability, run to the left or right of them. If you get behind the boss, this is a good time to land a few punches.
A pretty scary moment in the fight is when the boss throws a giant golden circle that shrinks and explodes. At the start of the battle the Eld will only cast one circle, but as you get further into the battle the Elden Beast will cast three in a row. Right now your goal is to get outside the area of the circle. When the boundaries get closer, jump over them. When you’re in the middle of it, it’s certain death.
The Elden Beast will also fire terrifying golden spears. Like the circles, the boss will glow in the early stages of the fight when he performs the attack. Later, the Elden Beast uses the same attack after emerging from the ground, but this time they throw the spears faster than before. In both scenarios, you’ll want to sprint to the opposite side where the spears are coming from while circling the arena.
Eventually, Elden Beast starts using mist abilities. In one, the boss spreads a trail of purple clouds horizontally that explodes. (There’s also a variation on this attack where the Elden Beast spreads the clouds out in a line in front of him.) Additionally, the clouds can sometimes form a black hole – and yes, it explodes. In all three scenarios, running away from the clouds is the best strategy. The hitboxes are too big to try to get close to the boss without getting hit.
A pretty dangerous spell the boss uses is a gold star that follows you everywhere. In addition, there are smaller projectiles that can also hit you. You can tell that the Elden Beast is about to unleash it when a glowing golden light appears in their left hand. While dealing with the next star isn’t a problem in itself, things get tricky when you have to pay attention to what else the boss is doing. A good way to escape the star is to gain some distance and roll in the direction it is coming. Eventually the spell stops and you can stop worrying about it.
Once you get used to avoiding these attacks and survive enough time to attack when there is an opening, you will defeat the Elden Beast. Most of the combat is about survival, but learning the boss’s moves will teach you when to be more aggressive.
And after you win, that’s it Elden Ring‘s endings and new game plus.
