An Australian woman has shared a foolproof way to clean greasy cooker hood filters, without scrubbing.

Susan, from Western Australia, shared before and after images in a popular Facebook group and praised The Glitz Cream Cleanser, which can be purchased at Bunnings Warehouse for $6.59.

‘I used to clean my cooker hood filter and put it in the dishwasher, I’m sure I’m not the only one here. Not anymore!’ she wrote.

“I found the easiest way to clean it and less than 10 minutes, no rubbing your elbow, I promise.”

“First time and I did…very happy with the result,” said Susan (pictured: Glitz Cream Cleanser)

To transform the oily filters, he removed the filters from the cooker hood and spread the cleaning cream on the front and back.

She left it on for a couple of minutes and then used a soft bristled brush to gently remove the oil buildup.

Lastly, he washed the filters in hot water and was surprised that they worked so well.

“First time and I did it…very happy with the result,” Susan said.

“The photo of the dirty range hood filter is credited to Google because I forgot to take a photo, but the photo on the left is me after I cleaned it up.”

In the comments, Susan added that she knew that cleaning filters in the dishwasher is not recommended as it can damage the filters, so she needed an alternative.

The simple ‘trick’ of cleaning left the filters looking shiny and new and ready to use again.

The impressive transformation wowed hundreds on Facebook and many were eager to try the product for themselves.

‘I’ve never been able to clean mine in the 17 years I’ve owned it. I manage to make it ‘less greasy’. I am going to try this!’ one person wrote.

Another woman shared her own cleaning tip, writing: “I soak mine in the sink with a dishwasher tablet for 15 minutes or more…it rinses clean.”
