How to play Fort Condor in FF7 Rebirth

First you need to understand the basics of Fort Condor:

  • There are two lanes where friendly and enemy units can cross each other. Check the right side of the screen to see what your enemy is sending and respond to his units accordingly.
  • The units follow the rock-paper-scissors system, but in this case it does defense (shield) > vanguard (sword) > at a distance (arc).
  • Each unit has an associated ATB cost, which can be located at the top left of their portrait on the left side of the screen. To see how much ATB you currently have, check your ATB meter in the top left corner of the screen.
  • Once you’ve summoned enough units of the same type (defense, vanguard, and ranged) as your hero (Cloud, Tifa, and Barret), you can summon them into battle.

The best strategy we’ve found is to… Establishment defense focused set up and spam ballista And trebuchet units for their headquarters and outpost. Here is a framework that can be used to beat any normal stage of Fort Condor:

  • At the beginning of the game, check which units your enemy sends and in which lane.
  • Counter their units using the shield-sword-bow system by placing an elite vanguard, elite enforcer, or both in the appropriate lane.
  • Place a cleric behind your vanguard and enforcer to keep them alive.
  • Keep spawning elite vanguards, elite enforcers, and clerics until you can build a strong frontline or summon your heroes.
  • Spam ballistas and trebuchets in front of the enemy’s headquarters and watch them drain their health.

Please note: placement of ballista and trebuchet is very important! Ballistas and trebuchets both attack whatever is in front of them. Ballistas shoot a deceptively wide arrow, while trebuchets launch a projectile at a fixed range. Place your trebuchets a little closer to the center of the battlefield to ensure the projectiles hit the target.

If you’re struggling and you feel like you’re being overwhelmed by units, that’s possible change the overall difficulty of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthwhich will change how fast your ATB meter charges. On easy difficulties your ATB meter charges significantly faster than on dynamic difficulties.
