In early The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’re likely to come across a pyramid of blocks with a red searchlight on top, scanning the area. If you think it looks like a mini boss, you’re absolutely right! It’s called the Flux construction 1and if you don’t know what you’re doing, you’ll quickly get an absolute body.
Fortunately, you can take down this boss and make use of the dropped items, including the terrifyingly powerful ones Flux Construct 1 Core – is actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. Fortunately, we’ve done the dying too, so you don’t have to.
Where to find the Flux Construct 1 in Tears of the Kingdom
The first Flux Construct 1 you encounter is on the first Sky Island you encounter, but is much easier if you have a decent weapon (about 10 attacks) and a bow. Ideally, you should also have your fourth heart container and a new piece of armor. We recommend going to Hyrule Castle, grab the paraglider and then teleport back Nachoyah Shrine in the south of the Great Sky Island.
From there, head to the location marked below. The paraglider really makes a huge difference here, as you can probably imagine.

How to beat the Flux Construct in Tears of the Kingdom
Once you attack the enemy, he will turn into a behemoth that will try to pancake you with his fists. Fortunately, if you look closely you will see that one of the blocks is not like the others. Which block it is seems to be random, but it’s pretty easy to spot thanks to its glowing spots.

Just poke that with an arrow and the bad guy will take the knee. This gives you a chance to run in and whale it with your strongest weapon. When you see it start to rise again, sprint away like your life depended on it. (It does.)
Repeat until the boss falls apart and explodes into sweet, sweet loot.

You should see a bunch of items on the floor. Pick up what you can and look for the one item you can’t.
How to use the Flux Construct 1 Core
Flux Construct 1 releases the Flux Construct 1 core. You cannot pick up this item, but you can attach it to a weapon to give it a massive damage spike.
Simply put, equip a weapon that hasn’t yet fused (we used a Zonaite sword for the flavor gain), use the Fuse ability to craft a terrifying looking weapon. Our sword’s attack power jumped from 6 to 19, which is what this means more than tripled its attack power with +13 attack.
Wouldn’t want to get hit by it…
