Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has been ruled out of the French Open after injuring his foot when his mother was allegedly held at gunpoint and his luxury green Tesla was stolen earlier this month.
The 28-year-old has continued his injury horror run by withdrawing from the French Open earlier this week.
While it was initially suspected that the Aussie’s knee was still causing him grief following surgery earlier this year, Kyrgios’ problem has been revealed to be with his foot.
The Canberra times reports that the tennis star injured herself during the May 1 mayhem as he helped police track down the man accused of stealing the car.
The traumatic incident left Kyrgios and family members in a state of distress, and it was only later that the Aussie realized the extent of his injury.

Due to the serious cut on the tennis star’s foot, he was unable to train last week
“We don’t know when it happened, but it’s a pretty big cut,” said his manager Daniel Horsfall.
‘The site of the wound has been open for almost a week and a half now. It’s not healing well and he can’t deliver the work on the track, so he’s been off the track for almost two weeks now.”
The injury comes after a horror year for the Canberra-born star who was sidelined in 2023 and recently lost his beloved grandmother.
Kyrgios has given Roland Garros a wide berth for the past six years and is not a fan of hard courts because it doesn’t suit his game.
His last game during a European clay court swing ended in an infamous default after throwing a chair onto the court in a classic Kyrgios tantrum while playing Casper Ruud at the 2019 Rome Masters.
The hothead has previously dismissed Roland Garros as the worst grand slam of them all, saying the tournament was ‘bad’ and should be kicked off the calendar.
However, tennis officials were confident that he would return to Paris this time, having stated so last year his girlfriend wanted to see Paris.
Horsfall says Kyrgios will focus on the grass season in Stuttgart to make his comeback.

The injury comes after a shocking year for the Canberra-born star who was sidelined in 2023 to recover from knee surgery.
“The knee surgery went the best it could and his rehabilitation was fantastic and we were at the point where we were loading and managing on the field,” said Horsfall.
“We had to get to a point where he could play five sets comfortably.
“We start the process as soon as the wound begins to heal and crust over. We are certainly still working to make it to the first tournament of the grass season.
“He’s just missing the competition… this is the longest he’s been out of tennis due to injury.
“We would have been ready to go, but we had to adjust the schedule.”
