Rapper, businessman, philanthropist, and sports commentator Snoop Dogg has lived a life that most of us can only dream of.
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is a former convicted felon who dealt drugs while in the Crips gang. He was once accused of murdering a rival gang member, a charge he was later acquitted of.
Although he has since left his life of crime and adrenaline behind and has been leading America’s Olympic coverage since 2021 alongside comedian Kevin Hart, it seems he has not forgotten his roots.
Resurfaced footage from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics shows Snoop falling in love with dressage horse riding, despite his fear of horses.
He and Hart were seen watching German rider Isabell Werth compete in the event.
“The horse is Crip Walking, that’s a gangster… this horse is crazy,” Snoop said in the 2021 video, adding, “I gotta get this motherfucker in a video!”

Crip Walking is a dance move that was adopted by several West Coast rappers who were affiliated with the Crips, the notorious Southern California gang that formed in the late 1960s.
Dancers who Crip Walk move their feet quickly and intricately, usually spelling CRIP with their feet.
The dressage event, which was reportedly the rapper’s first time watching such a thing, seems to have made quite an impression on him, as he was spotted watching this year’s dressage event with his business partner Martha Stewart on Saturday.
Snoop Dogg wore riding breeches, a dressage jacket and a helmet as he toured the Palace of Versailles.
The rapper and actor enjoyed a wonderful performance by British rider Becky Moody, who achieved a top score in the first round with her horse Jagerbomb.
Late last week, Stewart and Snoop revealed that the rapper had a fear of horses, but that he seems to have overcome it.

The rapper was joined at the event by close friend and businesswoman Marta Stewart
Stewart told NBC, “Snoop called me and said he knows I know about horses, and he’s a little scared of horses.”
Snoop, who was also interviewed at the time, said, “I’m still afraid of horses.”
“Have you ever ridden a horse?” Stewart asked.
“No,” Snoop said. “I’m scared.”
During the Games he worked for the American network NBC and was very busy in Paris, carrying the Olympic torch a short distance in the final relay and then appearing in various events, including gymnastics.
Snoop Dogg, whose full name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., said of his time as a torchbearer, “Something I can live with and be happy about is knowing that at that one moment in time, I was the face and the voice of peace.”
Snoop Dogg’s presence certainly created excitement at the venue. According to Moody’s teammate Carl Hester, news of his arrival caused a stir in the stables.
He said: ‘I didn’t meet him, but of course in the stables it was said that he was there and that everyone was looking for him through the camera.
‘It’s great that he likes dressage and that he was here.’
