How Sabrina Carpenter influenced the presidential election

Sabrina Carpenter has proven that her power as a pop star goes beyond just getting fans to stream her music.

The 25-year-old not only topped the charts, but was also one of the most influential celebrities when it came to people’s votes.

According to Number of personsthe Espresso hitmaker increased voter registration by 35,814 during her Short n’ Sweet album tour, meaning she attracted more voters through the organization than any other artist in 2024.

HeadCount is a national nonprofit organization that works with musicians to promote participation in democracy in the US, specifically through voter registration initiatives.

In addition to registrations, Carpenter also encouraged an additional 263,087 voters to participate outside of registration, according to Variety.

Carpenter is best known for her hits Taste, Espresso and Please Please Please – the latter reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Just behind Carpenter is Ariana Grande, who registered 15,591 new voters through her partnership with the organization.

Celebrities have been incredibly involved in the 2024 presidential election, with the majority throwing their support behind Kamala Harris rather than Donald Trump.

Carpenter’s close friend and mentor Taylor Swift dramatically endorsed Harris shortly after the presidential debate on one of the biggest nights of the race.

Beyoncé appeared at the campaign for Kamala Harris in Texas two weeks ago and has allowed the vice president to play her song “Freedom” during the campaign.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny came out in support of Kamala Harris following comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s offensive joke calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash” during the Trump rally at Madison Square Garden.

Terminator star and former GOP Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger made a rare presidential endorsement of Harris just six days before the 2024 election.

He and Trump have been feuding since Schwarzenegger stepped in to replace Trump on “Celebrity Apprentice” when he first ran for president in 2015.

Some of the big names coming out for Donald Trump include Dennis Quaid, Hulk Hogan, Amber Rose, Jason Aldean, Kelsey Grammer and Roseanne Barr.

Joe Rogan also endorsed Trump in the 2024 election after conducting a two-hour interview with Elon Musk.

“If it wasn’t for him (Musk) we would be crazy,” Rogan wrote on X just hours before the polls opened.

“He makes, in my opinion, the most compelling case for Trump you will hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.

‘For the record: yes, that is an expression of support for Trump. Enjoy the podcast’.

It’s a dramatic turnaround from the podcaster’s 2020 support of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., a self-described democratic socialist who helped develop the Green New Deal.
