Michelle Keegan’s scathing past comments about husband Mark Wright came back to haunt her on Monday, just hours after the actress confirmed her pregnancy.
The former Coronation Street star announced her first pregnancy with husband Mark in a series of Instagram posts on Sunday – nine years into their lavish wedding in Essex.
But the ceremony might never have happened if Michelle, 37, had followed through on her own comments about her TV personality husband in 2011.
In a section of her recently resurfaced Love It! magazine column – titled ‘Tut Tut, Mark’ – the then 29-year-old star voiced some less than complimentary opinions about her future husband, who at the time was in a stop-start relationship with The Only Way Is Essex co-star Lauren Goodger.
She wrote: ‘I love TOWIE! It’s one of those shows you don’t want to watch, but you just can’t resist turning it on. However, I don’t know how Lauren can take Mark back so easily; it’s so cringe!
“I couldn’t’ go back with someone who slept with a lot of girls I knew, but that’s just me.”

Mark and Lauren, who were together on and off for ten years, shot to fame on the ITVBe reality series, with storylines revolving around his numerous flirtations with other women, including co-stars Lucy Mecklenburgh and Sam Faiers.
Mark and Lauren even got engaged on TOWIE in March 2011 – with the Essex lad breaking things off five months later – and there has been bad blood between the two ever since.
Eighteen months later, Mark and Michelle met on a group holiday to Dubai and fell madly in love.
By September 2013, less than a year after their New Year’s holiday, the couple was engaged and attempted to tie the knot in May 2015.
The couple confirmed the happy news in a joint Instagram post on Sunday, sharing a sweet photo of Michelle cradling her blossoming baby bump.
They captioned the post: “2025 will be a special year for us…”
Former Coronation Street star Michelle married Mark in May 2015 and the couple live together in a country house in Essex that they built from scratch.
Heart Radio presenter Mark, who shot to fame in the ITVBe series TOWIE, is already an uncle to footballer brother Josh’s two children and sister Jess’s son and has spoken over the years about his desire to one day become a father himself.

The parents-to-be were spotted together alongside Mark’s former TOWIE co-star James Argent and his new girlfriend on Sunday, December 22, as they enjoyed a double date at the Ivy.
Friends of the couple have admitted they took the baby reveal photo in November during a winter break to Mallorca, one of their favorite holiday destinations.
Michelle and Mark started telling their loved ones in the fall and decided to keep the secret as long as possible The sun.
The insider said: ‘Michelle and Mark went on a winter sun holiday at the beginning of November and chose to take the photo there.
‘The photo was taken by a friend on an empty beach when they knew no one would see them.
Michelle’s pregnancy comes a year after she starred in the Netflix drama Fool Me Once, which became one of the streamer’s most-watched shows of all time.
In the Harlan Coben adaptation, Michelle played military pilot Maya Stern and was an instant global hit, racking up more than 98,200,200 views in its first 91 days.
She started her career in ITV’s Coronation Street, where she played Tina for six years before leaving the Cobbles in 2014.
