The best darts players in the world will come to Alexandra Palace this month and in the new year for the PDC World Darts Championship

The winner of the long-awaited tournament in London will earn a huge reward.

Michael Smith won his first World Darts Championship final at the third attempt with an exceptional performance to beat Michael van Gerwen 7-4 at Ally Pally earlier this year.

It was a repeat of the 2019 final, which Van Gerwen won 7-3. Smith had his chances to make it 7-3, but let Van Gerwen pass the tenth set. However, he took advantage of the big opportunity in a thrilling showcase to come from 2-0 down in the eleventh set to clinch the trophy and £500,000 prize money.

Mail Sport explains how much the winner of the PDC Darts World Championship will earn.
