How much is Jennifer Tilly worth? RHOBH fans go wild as her Simpsons fortune is revealed
Jennifer Tilly dropped quite the bombshell on Tuesday’s episode of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, revealing that she owns a piece of The Simpsons.
The 66-year-old is best known as an actress in films such as The Bride of Chucky and as a professional poker player before joining the reality show this year.
She was part of a group trip to Oceanside during the new episode when the conversation turned to divorce, which Tilly was very familiar with.
Tilly was married from 1984 to 1991 to Sam Simon, who developed Fox’s wildly popular animated series The Simpsons, which debuted in 1989 and is still going strong.
During a confessional, Tilly revealed that she actually owns part of the long-running show, which she got during her divorce from Simon, sending fans into a frenzy.
Tilly’s net worth is estimated at around $40 million, including income from her Simpsons royalties, acting, reality TV and almost $1 million in income from professional poker.
‘My ex-husband was Sam Simon, the creator of The Simpsons. I was married to him for seven years. We were together for about ten years. And when we got divorced, I got a part of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement, and no one knew that The Simpsons would continue for billions of years. So every day, honestly, every day I think, thank you, Sam,” Tilly revealed in a confessional.

Although Matt Groening is usually seen as the sole creator of The Simpsons, he developed the show together with Tilly’s ex Simon and James L. Brooks.
Groening, Simon and Brooks all served as showrunners for the first two seasons, while Simon also served as creative supervisor for the first four seasons.

Simon was hailed by director Brad Bird as the “unsung hero” of The Simpsons – who would move on from directing episodes of The Simpsons to making The Incredibles and Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol.
Simon eventually left the show in 1993, but upon his departure negotiated a deal that gave him a share of the show’s profits every year, reportedly worth up to $10 million per year.
Tilly remained close to Simon until he died of bowel cancer in March 2015 aged 59, with his will leaving Tilly 30% of his royalties from The Simpsons, via RealityTea.
Simon was worth a whopping $100 million when he passed away in 2015, and spent much of that fortune on charities and animal rights organizations.
In 2016, a woman named Katie Porter, who claimed to be Simon’s “intimate” partner for the last three years of his life, filed a claim against his estate.
She claimed that Simon promised in his will to leave her $5 million tax free if she agreed “not to continue working.”
Porter claimed she kept her part of the deal she agreed to, although it was not clear whether Porter was actually named as a beneficiary in the will.
