How Michael Clarke entered dangerous territory by keeping in touch with ex Pip Edwards

They say if you’re still friends with your ex, you’re not over them romantically.

And Michael Clarke’s friendship with ex-girlfriend Pip Edwards has really hurt his relationship with his new love, Jade Yarbrough.

So much so that the pair were involved in a wild brawl in a park in Noosa earlier this month over allegations the former Australian cricket captain cheated on Yarbrough with the glamorous designer PE Nation.

Clarke is believed to have remained friends with Edwards after ending their whirlwind romance in December 2021.

At the time, a source told Daily Mail Australia: “They are two best friends who decided to split as a couple earlier this month, but are continuing their friendship.”

The old friends had previously dated from early 2020 to February 2021.

They rekindled their romance in June of that year before calling it quits just a few months later in December.

Clarke also has an ‘incredible’ friendship with his ex-wife Kyly, with whom he shares a seven-year-old daughter, Kelsey Lee.

He recently told Daily Mail Australia: “She [Kelsey’s] he has a beautiful mother. He has a beautiful mother, who cares about her as much as I do.

“We have an amazing friendship and it’s about making sure our daughter is cared for and taken care of and learns the rules of life. There’s discipline and hard days, but that’s part of being a parent,” she continued.

Clarke’s friendship with her Pip was at the center of the dramatic Images obtained by The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday showing the cricketer being yelled at and slapped by his irate girlfriend Yarbrough as she accuses him of cheating on her.

During the furious exchange, she claims that Clarke slept with his ex-girlfriend on December 17 and texted her that she is the “love of his life.”

The video, shot on January 10 in Noosa, begins with Yarbrough yelling at Clarke, then slapping and shoving him after he insisted he never cheated on her.

‘I’m wrong? I’m fucking wrong! You are a fucking liar. Ican see everything. You called her,’ Yarbrough yells, apparently referring to the messages between Clarke and Edwards.

Clarke then tries to assure Yarbrough that she did not sleep with Edwards on December 17, saying that she was with his accountant friend Anthony Bell that night.

“Baby, you’re wrong, you’re wrong,” Clarke insists. ‘Baby, baby, Belly was in the house. I swear on my life, I swear on my life… That’s not true, it’s not true.’

He then swears on the life of his daughter Kelsey Lee that he didn’t cheat on her.

But Yarbrough does not believe his desperate protests and claims that he spoke to Edwards.

‘You’re lying to me. You are a piece of s**t. I just talked to her. What’s wrong?’ she howls

Clarke again denied sleeping with Edwards, replying, ‘No, I didn’t. you can hit me That’s not true, that’s not true’.

Clarke appeared to have injured his hamstring in the melee after he was pushed to the ground by Yarbrough, as he was seen limping through the public park.

Yarbrough’s sister Jasmine, joined by her husband Karl Stefanovic, steps in and grabs her distraught younger sister by the arm and drags her away.

Jasmine can be heard saying, “Go to Karl, go out to Karl.”

As she is led away, Yarbrough can be heard crying as she turns to Clarke and yells, ‘I hate you!’

Clarke then tries to follow her girlfriend before unleashing a wave of rage at Stefanovic, presumably because he is leaving with the two sisters.

‘Karlos, I can tell you now c**t, don’t go. She can, she can hit me, but you idiot,” says Clarke.

This comment arouses the fury of Jade, who defends her brother-in-law before slapping Clarke across the face.

“You piece of s**t, don’t talk to him,” he yells.

Bell is heard telling the couple to stop, which falls on deaf ears.

Clarke replies, ‘Don’t ever talk to me again.’

The two-minute clip ends with Jasmine and Bell separating the feuding couple.

“Stop, Jade, stop,” Jasmine pleads, to which Bell adds, “Stop it, Jade.”

The ugly altercation unfolded in front of nearby young children, according to witnesses.

Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine were forced to intervene in the ugly altercation between Jade and Michael.

A repentant Clarke has taken full responsibility for what happened.

I am absolutely heartbroken, I have put people I hold in the highest regard in this position. My actions in the lead up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable,” he said Wednesday night.

“I am devastated that by my actions I have brought women of class and integrity, and my peers, into this situation.”

His former partner Edwards distanced himself from the ‘debacle’ when he delivered a brutal blow to Clarke.

‘This is not my circus. Once again, Michael in his true nature has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to,” Edwards said in a statement.
