The 2024 Logie Awards are set to be a glittering musical tribute, with Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian preparing to honour the legendary John Farnham.
The duo will take to the stage alongside The Farnham Band for a special performance celebrating Farnham’s illustrious career and remarkable achievements.
This tribute is expected to be one of the highlights of the evening, as the Logies pay tribute to an artist who has left an indelible mark on Australian music.
Affectionately known as Australia’s ‘The Voice’, Farnham has had a career spanning more than five decades, with countless chart-topping hits and unforgettable performances.
But it is unlikely he will ever be able to perform again after undergoing major surgery to remove the tumor from his mouth.
The surgery, which was performed by 26 medical staff, also removed a large portion of his jaw. Twelve months after the operation, Farnham announced that he was cancer-free.
He only discovered he had cancer in his mouth after his wife Jill insisted he take him to the doctor for a check-up because he had a persistent sore in his mouth.
Mauboy and Sebastian, who have both openly expressed their admiration for Farnham, are expected to deliver a powerful and emotional performance that will resonate with viewers and audiences alike.

Missy Higgins will also perform at the Logies during the ‘In Memoriam’ segment, a moving tribute to those the music industry has lost over the past year.
The singer-songwriter will perform a song she originally wrote in memory of a loved one, in what promises to be an emotional and heartfelt moment during the ceremony.
The presenters for the evening include Celia Pacquola, Stephen Peacocke, Michelle Lim Davidson, Claudia Karvan, Costa Georgiadis, Sarah Abo, Charlie Albone, Stephen Curry and the Muster Dogs, with more names to be announced.
Comedian Sam Pang will host the awards ceremony.
“It was a wonderful experience hosting the Logies last year and I look forward to returning in 2024,” Sam said in a statement in June.
‘To make it even more exciting, Seven has also given me the green light to try new things this year, so I’m really looking forward to showing off my underrated and

Last year, after making his debut at the awards, Pang was named one of the best Logies hosts in a long time.
His sharp jokes at the Logies were aimed at high-profile targets including Channel Nine’s Karl Stefanovic and retired Sunrise presenter David Koch.
Channel Seven’s broadcast of Logies was a ratings hit for the network, attracting a massive 877,000 viewers.

Fans are grateful to Sam for the show’s success, with many watching the Logies for the first time, only to see him as the host.
He was a huge hit with viewers thanks to his fiery jokes, which tackled everything from crude reality TV to the scandalous private lives of celebrities.
Sam’s opening monologue included a dig at Married at First Sight, saying the controversial reality show was “a clear sign that we’re not going to make it as a species.”
He also joked about the lack of diversity in commercial television: ‘I’m the first presenter in the history of the Logies to present half Channel Seven and half Channel Ten.’
