Gwyneth Paltrow won her ski accident trial tonight after a week of swanky court appearances in which she displayed the ‘hidden wealth’ Inheritance-style trend.
The actress was sued for $300,000 by retired doctor Terry Sanderson, 76, who claimed she left him with permanent brain damage when she allegedly “crashed” into him in 2016 in Deer Valley.
But a jury in Park City, Utah, found Sanderson 100 percent at fault after the 50-year-old actress countersued for a nominal $1 and attorneys’ fees.
Now that the legal victory is over her, it appears Paltrow deliberately opted for a natural and neutral wardrobe in an attempt to win over jurors in the blockbuster case.

The key to the ‘quiet luxury’ style employed so successfully by HBO’s Roy family is to invest in bespoke classic pieces and avoid flaunting designer logos.
This serves to create a sleek and elevated look, and Paltrow seems to have taken this into account.
Throughout the test, she opted for outfits in understated colors like khaki, navy, tan, gray, and white, but there’s still a pricey price tag.
Could her stripped-back clothing decisions have impacted the proceedings?

Speaking about how Paltrow has embraced the ‘stealth wealth’ and ‘quiet luxury’ trends, Liz told FEMAIL: ‘Gwyneth has mastered the art of dressing in luxe pieces, without flaunting logos or conventional designs.
“She looks paired with high-end pieces that are understated, polished and minimal, so she’s not in your face, but we’re all noticing how good she looks.
“She can wear a $25,000 necklace and $1,500 Prada boots, and unless you’re a fashion insider, you might not know it.”
Elaborating on the actress’ possible motivations, he added: “I think the trial for her is about the principle of defending her reputation, rather than losing money, which is probably why she’s showing it through her wardrobe.”
“She’s always been one to wear minimalist designs, so it’s no surprise that she’s chosen designers like The Row, which is the Olsen twins’ sleek minimalist line known for its outrageous prices.
“Wearing her coat that costs more than most people’s mortgage is normal for her.”
And it seems likely that the decisions convinced the jury.
Liz said: “I’m sure selecting muted, minimal designer pieces is a way to look relatable but put together, and she’s not trying to show off her fame and fortune.”
‘Whether it works or not, the jury is convinced that she is cementing her status as a style icon!’
And speaking of how ‘stealth wealth’ is spreading, he told FEMAIL: ‘From Succession to the revival of ’90s minimalism in street style, we’re seeing more wealthy people select designers like Loro Piana, Brunello Cuccinelli, Zegna , The Row, MaxMara and invest in pieces that will hold their value as trends come and go.
“It’s like an ‘if you know you know’ nod among the super-rich, as logos have gotten flashy and feel cheap.
“Mainstream designers seem to be taking notice with more minimalist collections, and pre-owned ’90s styles from sites like The Real Real seem to be the most coveted these days.”
Liz told FEMAIL that Paltrow’s choices (pictured on day four) make her look “mixed with high-end pieces that are understated, polished and minimalist.”

Liz said Paltrow’s court appearances (day eight, left, and day nine, right) are “cementing her status as a style icon.”
Liz previously told FEMAIL about where to start when it comes to achieving the “quiet luxury” look.
She said the best way to start her wardrobe is with “understated, tailored pieces” mixed with “basics like button-down shirts and turtlenecks, often in monochromatic hues.”
“My clients and Instagram followers always say that the basics are too ‘boring’, but when done right, they can look very elevated.”
She added: “I always say invest in a great suit, it doesn’t have to be super expensive, because it always looks classy, even when paired with a T-shirt and sneakers, and it’s so versatile to mix and match.”
“Everyone needs at least one quality blazer, as it’s something that can be worn with everything, especially to throw over any top for a Zoom call.”
To the delight of her followers, throughout the legal proceedings, Liz has been sharing updates on where people can get knockoffs of Paltrow’s outfits to recreate the look for less.
