Gisele Bundchen broke the news of her shock pregnancy privately to her ex-husband Tom Brady to prevent him from finding out through media reports, DailyMail.com can reveal.
The supermodel, 44, is expecting her third child, first with Valente, two years after she first sparked dating rumors with the Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor, 35, in the wake of her divorce from Brady, 47.
She shared the announcement with Brady shortly after telling their two children because she wanted him to hear it from her first.
Although the pregnancy was ‘unexpected’, she is so ‘happy’ to give her boyfriend Joaquim Valente the family she knows he has always wanted.
The couple, who were plagued by split rumors earlier this year, were not planning to have a child together, according to sources who told DailyMail.com a wedding was also planned.
“Gisele and Joaquim had no intention of having a child together,” the insider said. ‘This was unexpected. Joaquim has always wanted a family, so she is happy to give him one.
“She knew he would be a great father when her children started taking classes with him. He is patient, playful and so understanding.”

The star is already mom to son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11, whom she shares with former NFL champion Brady.
Their children are said to be “absolutely thrilled” by the news and have long loved Valente.
“Gisele’s children are absolutely thrilled with this,” they continued. ‘Joaquim has played a big role in their lives since 2021, when she started incorporating Jiu Jitsu as part of their homeschooling.
“They love him and consider him a father figure.
“They are now starting a family of their own and a wedding will take place in the future.”
Gisele’s shocking announcement came Monday afternoon, with sources telling People that Bundchen and Valente are “happy about this new chapter.”
“Gisele and Joaquim are happy with this new chapter in their lives and look forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family,” they said.

Bundchen has lately been pictured wearing baggy sweatshirts and hiding her stomach with a handbag.
The supermodel, who reportedly refused to take part in the recently restarted Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show because she didn’t want to show her baby bump, is expected to arrive in February.
Bundchen and Valente first sparked romance rumors when they were spotted together in Costa Rica in November 2022, two weeks after her $733 million divorce from Brady was finalized.
She denied that they were in a relationship.
Valente, who owns a jiu-jitsu studio in Miami with his brothers Pedro and Gui Valente, started dating Bundchen in June 2023, after first meeting in December 2021 when she was looking for training for her son. She then decided to take lessons as well.
The news that they were dating was publicly confirmed in February when DailyMail.com revealed exclusive footage of the pair kissing on Valentine’s Day.
Bundchen later confirmed that she is dating again and first revealed details about her new relationship in a candid interview with The New York Times, but did not mention Valente.
“This is the first time I’ve seen someone who was a friend of mine,” she admitted. ‘It’s very different. It’s very honest and very transparent.’
