According to reports, Getafe will continue to benefit from Mason Greenwood in the future if the player continues to play at different clubs.
Greenwood, 22, recently secured his permanent £30million move from Manchester United after signing for the French club, where he will play under former Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi.
The English striker spent last season on loan at LaLiga club Getafe after it was mutually agreed that his future would not lie with United following his arrest in January 2022.
It has now emerged that United have included a buy-back clause in his contract after approving the sale to Marseille. Further details have now emerged that Getafe still have a financial interest in the star player.
His move to Spain last season saw Getafe negotiate a sell-on clause into the deal, meaning they will receive 20 percent of any future sale, as reported by The Athletics.

Greenwood spent last season on loan at Getafe after it was mutually agreed that his future did not lie at Old Trafford.
His arrival at Marseille earned Getafe £5.34m, an unusual detail that also means they will continue to benefit from any further career moves, as will United.
The clause was negotiated by the Spanish club with United as they offered Greenwood a chance to return to playing after he was arrested for attempted rape, sexual assault and coercion.
Greenwood denied any wrongdoing throughout the trial and the charges and case against him were dropped in February 2023 when key witnesses recanted.
United conducted an internal investigation into the matter and later decided, amid public outcry, that Greenwood would continue his playing career outside the club.
Getafe will continue to receive 20 percent of any future sale of Greenwood should he leave Marseille
He went on to score 10 goals and provide six assists, making him Getafe’s player of the season during his solo season in Spain.
United made money from the player they sold to Marseille purely because he had come through the club’s youth academy. However, some critics were furious and demanded that the money be donated to women’s charities.
Marseille Mayor Benoit Payan was also furious about Greenwood’s arrival in France and tried to block his arrival before the deal was finally completed.
Greenwood later signed a five-year contract with Marseille and was later officially presented at a press conference.
