How to earn $150,000 a year WITHOUT going to university – as the ATO releases top paid jobs Aussies can get with no degree

The ATO has revealed the top ten highest paying jobs Australians can get without a university degree, with jobs earning an average of $153,000.

According to recently released data from the IRS, air traffic controllers earn the most of those who do not have a degree.

They earn an average of $153,445 per year, followed by pilots who typically earn $143,403.

Train engineers earn about $132,000 a year, followed by coal miners who can scrape together $130,000.

Helicopter pilots follow closely behind at $20,000 less than pilots, but earn an average of $125,000 per year.

Railroad signalmen earn $124,000 for their work, while station managers are not far behind at $115,000.

Real estate agents made a surprise appearance on the list, with an average salary of $112,000 per year, while crane operators and auctioneers completed the top ten with $109,000 and $102,000.

The list has outraged many, who admitted that while the jobs do not require a college degree, most do require intensive training.

Many courses are just as expensive or even more expensive than earning a bachelor’s degree.

“Yes, I’m a pilot and you don’t need a degree, just about $150,000 in other training,” one man said.

“Helicopter pilot here, we don’t need a degree, but you do have to study a lot and you have to pass the tests. When you’ve done that, you’re usually $80,000 in debt.”

“My husband is an area controller for trains. No degree, but the internship was hectic! More than my university degree,” said another woman.

Others claimed that the average wage was “skewed.”

“Some realtors make a lot of money, but the rest of us make well under $100,000,” one woman said after seeing the listing.

“I’m a miner, work weekends, and make $174,000 a year. I don’t know many men who make only $130,000.”

Some occupations were not mentioned at all, causing even more confusion.

“I’m a childcare manager here, I don’t have a degree and I’m doing very well,” said one woman.

‘Worker here – for $180,000.’

“It’s easy to make $2,000 a week driving trucks,” said another. “You can make $4,000 if you can afford it.”

“I’m a scaffolder and I make $190,000,” said another.

The highest paying jobs in Australia are still jobs that require extensive postgraduate training.

Examples include surgeons, who earn an average of $460,000 per year, anesthesiologists who earn around $430,000, and financial traders who can earn an average of $373,000.
