How do you like to play Zelda games?

You probably already know how you’re going to play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I sure do; I’m going to take small bites of each piece on the menu, as if it were some delicious dessert I’m trying to make last (our review only reinforces my desire to take the time to do it). After that, I’m going to double down on my tracks to become proficient at fusing weapons and items, as well as the improved cooking system. Miss collecting Korok seeds though, unless Nintendo has made them more appealing to look up than inside Breath of the Wild.

I’ve already spoken to someone who intends to do the exact opposite; they plan to race through it as quickly as possible so they don’t get spoiled by the beats of the main story. I try to respect other perspectives, but I want to let my brain marinate in Zonai juice for as long as possible.

I get it – some people don’t get much free time to play video games. Those people get a pass, but with all due respect, it’s hard for me to accept that rushing this game will still bring the same taste, if you will, to those (ahem, Jay Peters of The Verge) who intend to play it this way.

So I’m curious: how you planning to play it? Will you continue down the path of major story objectives so you can move on to other games in the coming months? Or do you just let the game carry you for as long as you’re interested, no matter how long it takes? Let us know.
