This wired USB keyboard is meant to be placed between Joy-Con controllers, making it easier to type messages in the few games that support text chat. Its real purpose, I think, is to make typing on Nintendo’s eShop easier. Two quick notes about the Armor3: it doesn’t charge Joy-Con controllers attached to it, and the USB cable is 10 feet long, which should free up the distance between your couch and the Switch dock.
While it’s not nearly as cool as Nintendo’s official Gamecube controller and keyboard Since the early 2000s, I’ve been happy to live in a world where the Hyperkin keyboard exists, if only to continue the legacy of crazy-looking peripherals. The Armor3 is also compatible with PS4, PC and Mac. If you think you’ll find it useful, the keyboard is currently available for purchase on Amazon, at a cost $27.60 during a limited-time Lightning Deal (usually $31.94).
