The defender recently returned to full training after missing the last three games with a thigh problem.

After scoring at the weekend, Julian Alvarez is expected from the start.

Heading into tonight’s game with West Ham, Guardiola revealed that the Hammers are capable of a good result at the Etihad.
“I can’t control the results of the others, I’m too busy working on what to do against West Ham tomorrow,” Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference.
West Ham may not have done the season they expected in the Premier League as they have for the past two seasons, but [David] Moyes has been exceptional and that doesn’t mean the quality isn’t there.
“I’ll look back a little bit at their games against Liverpool and Arsenal and I’ll watch the first game of the Premier League [season].
“The guns are there, they’re a good team, they didn’t have a good season like they expected, but the guns are there. I have no doubt that anything can happen in one game, so we absolutely have to be ready.”

As for the Hammers, Moyes hopes his squad can put on another good show and cause a stir tonight.

“We know we are playing against a very good team. We’ve been at the Etihad a lot and it was hard to win. But we gave them some really good games when we played them, and the games were very close.’
“I hope we can put on a good show again.”
