Houston Texans star Brevin Jordan to miss the rest of the season after suffering torn ACL

Houston Texans star Brevin Jordan will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Jordan was placed on the injured list on Wednesday after suffering the injury during Sunday night’s win over the Chicago Bears.

He made two catches for seven yards in the Texans’ first two games of the season, after filling in for Dalton Schulz.

The Texans, who boast a star-studded roster this season, selected Jordan with a fifth-round pick in the 2021 draft.

The injury comes at a devastating time for Jordan, who is in the final year of his rookie contract and was looking to prove his worth to head coach DeMeco Ryans.

“If you want to talk about the heartbeat of this team, it’s just who he is,” quarterback CJ Stroud said this week.

“Somebody who loves the ball hard and loves everybody in this building. He loves the ball and I think he really got his momentum going about who he wanted to be in this league and how he wanted to approach practice.

“I pray for him and I know he’s a man of faith and God doesn’t make mistakes. He knows that. So I’m not worried about him, but I want to be a brother to him that he can lean on.

“I love Brev and he’s my brother for the rest of my life. I know he’ll be back soon and he’ll do great things when he gets back.”

Head coach Ryans added: “It’s really heartbreaking to lose Brevin. He was coming off a breakthrough year. I feel bad for Brevin and the injury.

“When these guys get injured, it’s always difficult. That’s why it’s important that Brevin and he approach the rehabilitation in the right way and get back on their feet as soon as possible.”
