Houston school student, 15, punches teacher in the head after demanding to get his cell phone back

A Houston high school student, 15, was seen aggressively punching a teacher on the head as he demanded to get his cell phone back in a gruesome video that went viral.

Footage circulating on Twitter shows the student standing intimidatingly close to the smaller teacher, repeatedly asking for his “f*****g phone” before swinging his fist in the teacher’s face.

Lamar High School, along with Principal Rita Graves, sent a letter to families saying that this type of behavior will not be tolerated and that the administrators were looking for ways to prevent it from happening again.

Neither student nor teacher have been publicly identified at this time.

In the clip, a student repeatedly says “give me back my f*****g phone,” while the teacher calmly asks the student to “sit down.”

“Give me my phone,” he heard the student say again, appearing annoyed.

The student then leans back and punches the teacher square in the face as an off-screen bystander screams in disbelief.

The person filming quickly ends the recording as the savage attack takes place.

DailyMail.com has reached out to students, parents and the principal of Lamar High School, Graves, for comment.

Speak against KHO 11 The Texan chapter of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the second-largest teachers’ union in America, said the boy made a “big mistake.”

“Unfortunately, this kid made a big mistake,” said AFT Texas president Zeph Capo.

Capo called on HISD to properly punish the student and added that he will support the move to keep the student off campus.

“Under no circumstances should he be allowed back on a regular campus,” Capo said. “This is not something that should be tolerated.”

Capo and other educators don’t believe there was anything to warrant such a response, let alone the teacher confiscating a phone that is allowed in HISD schools under certain circumstances.

“Unfortunately, we see this too much,” Capo said. “We see this happening too much with our teachers and with our school staff.”

According to the outlet, 520 incidents were recorded in the 2021-2022 school year, double the number of the previous five years.

There have been nearly 1,200 attacks between 2017 and 202, according to TEA discipline reports obtained by the publication.

“I definitely experienced angry reactions,” Capo said. “I’ve certainly seen students throw desks across the room.”

Capo said he has never been hit by a student, even when he worked at an alternative school. He praised the Lamar teacher for not fighting back.

“That’s all the more reason why I hope this teacher is supported, that the principal does what he needs to do, that the school district follows the law,” Capo said.

Filming of disrespectful behavior towards school staff has become a common phenomenon when an upset teacher quit her job last month.

The disturbing TikTok footage captured the moment an upset teacher quit her job and marched out of a class saying, “I’m just a dumb old white lady.”

The woman, who has not been identified, looked sad as she began to pack her things before storming out of the classroom.

Initially you hear students laughing, before a male voice says ‘woah is not impossible’ as she walks out the door.

It remains unclear at which school or even where in the US the incident took place, with text above the footage reading “they made the teacher leave.”

Just this week, an Ohio school bus driver was seen desperately quit his job after yelling at students who sprayed perfume on her bus in hopes of giving her an asthma attack.

Jackie Miller was filmed telling alleged teen bullies to “shut up” in the town of Amherst where she had worked for the past two years before finally declaring, “I’m done with this shit!”

The 15-year-old driver stopped after last week’s incident and threw up her hands for what she said was unrelenting bad behavior from a specific group of students on her line, who she claims stripped her of her job.

While the video racked up millions of views, Miller became an unlikely hero as dozens of people jumped to her defense over what they believed was a fair response to a dangerous situation.

a The GoFundMe page was launched to support her, and a local store even started selling t-shirts with her infamous exasperated statement printed on them, with the proceeds donated to school bus driver associations.

Although Miller later told 3News she regretted the incident, she said she would not take it back and felt her behavior was justified.

In the video, Miller was seen storming down the aisle of her bus after a student told her that someone sprayed perfume.

“How much more do you expect me to fucking take?” she yelled, then demanded to know which student had done it.

All of the students denied spraying anything, but Miller insisted she could “fuckin’ smell it.”

“I’m fed up with you guys, I’m done with it,” she said, pointing to individual students. “I’m going to start f*****g with some serious a** kicking.

‘Do you hear me?’ she screamed. “My foot will be so far up your ass it will dangle out of your goddamn nose.”

While the kids continued to deny spraying perfume, Miller insisted she could smell it, saying, “I’m allergic to that shit.”

“I should walk off this bus right now and let you walk home,” she said.

Despite the seriousness of her reaction, Miller later defended her actions, telling 3News how just a month earlier, the same group of students had deliberately sprayed perfume on the bus and caused her to have a severe asthma attack.

“She sprayed perfume on the bus and I had a terrible asthma attack,” she said.

“I had to stop the bus, grab my inhaler, and try to get my lungs open again. I made all the kids open all the windows, they know that.’

Miller explained that those students had deliberately taunted her for years and that when the perfume was sprayed again after the initial incident, she finally had enough.

“I’m sorry for the way this turned out, I really am,” she said. “I apologize for my actions, but I will not take it back.

“This is a plight of all bus drivers, we are being treated in the worst possible sense of the word,” she added. “We are treated with such disrespect.”

The Amherst school superintendent told 3News that students were disciplined after the incident.

The owner of local clothing store Main Street Threads, Jacqui Adkins, said she felt for Miller after seeing the video and decided to make T-shirts to support her.

“We all felt a little bit for her at the time. We’ve all had bad days, we’ve all gone through hardships, and our hearts just went out for her,” she said.
