House Republicans continue to hammer Biden on the border with resolution denouncing the ‘worst’ immigration crisis in HISTORY allowing over 9 million illegal migrants to enter the U.S.

  • The House of Representatives passed a resolution on Tuesday denouncing the Biden administration’s immigration policies
  • The resolution was proposed by Rep. Monica De La Cruz, R-Texas, who represents part of the U.S.-Mexico border

The House voted Tuesday to pass a resolution claiming President Joe Biden has created the “worst border security crisis” the country has ever seen.

The resolution was passed by the House of Representatives by a vote of 226 to 193. It is notable that 14 Democrats voted in favor of the resolution.

Democratic Reps. Jared Moskowitz, Henry Cuellar, Jared Golden and Mary Peltolta were among those who voted in favor of the resolution.

The measure specifically criticized the Biden administration’s border policies, claiming he has encouraged more than 9.3 million illegal migrants to come to the U.S. southern border since taking office.

It also blamed the Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas for helping Biden create “the worst border security crisis in the nation’s history.”

Mayorkas was impeached by the House of Representatives last month over his handling of the US-Mexico border.

The resolution was authored by Rep. Monica De La Cruz, R-Texas, who represents much of the U.S.-Mexico border.

“This resolution once again brings to light the stark reality that under the watch of President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas, our nation has witnessed the worst border crisis in American history,” De La Cruz said in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

“The resolution is clear about its demands, it is time for this government to take responsibility.”

“We must establish asylum cooperation agreements with more secure partner countries, use expedited removal authorities judiciously, and ensure that those who are not admitted are detained as federal law requires,” De La Cruz said.

Some of the policies she advocated, such as asylum agreements and expedited removal, were expanded under former President Donald Trump’s administration.

Under Trump, the US has signed asylum agreements with Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, meaning data collected on migrants passing through these countries will be provided to US officials.

The current administration has “suspended and terminated” the agreements as part of Biden’s “open borders agenda,” the resolution said.

On the expedited removal authority, which allows low-level immigration officials to summarily remove certain noncitizens without a hearing, the Biden administration has rolled back expansions made under Trump.

Yet President Biden blamed Republicans for the migrant crisis along the southern border during his State of the Union remarks last week.

While touting a bill that could have brought about border security reforms, Biden noted how “unfortunately politics has derailed this so far,” in a jab at the Republican Party for not supporting the measure.

President Joe Biden has repeatedly defended his border policies, including during his recent State of the Union address

“This is not really an issue of immigration policy, but of national security, public safety and basic human dignity,” De La Cruz said.

“We deserve a sensible, safe and humane immigration system in the interests of our nation, for the protection of our citizens and the integrity of our borders.”

The passing of the resolution is largely symbolic, but it is evidence that Biden has created the worst immigration crisis to ever hit the US.

Because Republicans’ voting margin in the House of Representatives is razor-thin and expected to shrink by the end of next week, getting anything through the House is a victory for the Republican conference.
