House Republican Bob Good’s truth bombshell in brutal farewell speech as he’s ousted from Congress
Retiring Republican Virginia Rep. Bob Good gave a blunt assessment of his time in Congress during his farewell speech.
The former Freedom Caucus chairman lost his seat in Congress in August following a recount of his controversial primary against Trump-backed John McGuire.
Good’s fire tactics in the House of Representatives, who was first elected in 2020, made enemies of colleagues, including newly elected President Donald Trump and former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
In his final address to the House on Wednesday, Good boasted about how little was accomplished during his tenure, claiming that most of what Congress does is “bad.”
“In fact, most of what we do here in Washington is bad, certainly unconstitutional, unjustified and often downright harmful. Not to mention, we don’t have the money,” he said.
‘So the less we do, the better. In fact, we should take pride in the charge that this Congress has done less than most Congresses over the past two years.”
The Virginia lawmaker emphasized that the lack of results was an attempt to prevent Democrats from passing legislation.
Good said, “What more should we have done as Republicans than Biden and Schumer would have agreed to do?”

The right-wing Freedom Caucus chairman lost the president’s support when he initially endorsed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis during the presidential primaries.
Trump never forgot that and did his best to actively unite voters against Good, calling him “bad for Virginia and bad for the US.”
“He turned his back on our incredible movement and continually attacked and fought me until recently, when he gave a warm and ‘loving’ endorsement – but actually it was too late,” Trump wrote on Truth Social before Election Day.
However, in his farewell speech, Good explained that he hoped to work with Trump during his time in Congress.
“When I first ran for Congress in 2020, I assumed I would have the opportunity to serve alongside President Trump, help him build on the successes of his first term and help him advance his agenda for the second term,” Good said.
‘Unfortunately that has not been the case. And like most Republicans, my efforts, out of absolute necessity, are focused on combating the Democratic agenda.”
Good’s first race on June 18 was so close that it took weeks for the results to be announced and Good financed the recount himself.
But in the end, the nearly 400-vote gap out of 62,000 votes cast could not be made up, and the Associated Press called the race for McGuire on Thursday evening.

With 99 percent of the vote, McGuire won by just 393 votes and now the Freedom Caucus will be forced to elect a new chairman.
In a concession message, Good boasted that he had been the “strongest and most consistent voice in the House of Representatives for protecting lives from contraception.”
Despite the former president’s heat, Good was one of a handful of right-wing lawmakers who traveled to Manhattan on May 16 to support Trump in his criminal trial. McGuire went to New York that same day to drum up Trump’s support.
Trump held a tele-town hall for McGuire on the eve of the primaries to further stab the knife in Good.
In June, a fellow member of the Freedom Caucus, Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, even endorsed Good’s opponent. The caucus generally likes to present a united front.
