The Targaryen Civil War is on the horizon in the first trailer for House of the Dragon season 2. The trailer was released on Saturday at the CCXP convention in Brazil, during a panel for the show's new season. House of the Dragon season 2 will be released next summer.
The trailer doesn't contain too much actual story, but that's okay, we know exactly where this story is going: a massive war between Westeros' most powerful silver-haired dragon family. The trailer features a few parts of the show's main characters, including Rhaenyra, Rhaenys, Otto, Daemon, Aemon, Larys and more – as well as enough dragons to take out most of the kingdom.
House of the Dragon's second season will bring back most of the primary cast from the first season, with the exception of a few actors such as Milly Alcock, Emily Carey and Paddy Considine, who have all grown out of the series in some way. The cast will also add several members, including Amanda Collins (Raised by wolves) as Jeyne Arryn, Gayle Rankin (Perry Mason) as Alys Rivers, Kieran Bew (Warrior) as Hugh Hammer, Simon Russell Beale (The death of Stalin) as Simon Strong, and more. Co-showrunner Ryan Condal will return for the second season, but his other co-showrunner, Miguel Sapochnik, will not return.
