‘Hot Felon 2.0’ sets internet ablaze with piercing green eyes ‘after leading cops on armed chase’

A “hot felon 2.0” set the internet on fire after he and another Wisconsin man led police on an armed chase for nearly 40 miles.

Malik Harrell, 23, and Stephon Mosby, 22, were arrested and charged in connection with a wild police chase that led to a tactical situation in Milwaukee last week.

But despite their crime, the Internet swooned over 22-year-old Mosby’s mugshot — especially his piercing green eyes — after he was booked into the Milwaukee County Jail.

On December 28 around 7 p.m., patrol officers spotted a black Buick with license plates registered to a Chevrolet. Fox 6 News reports this.

When police attempted to pull the vehicle over, the Buick sped away, sparking the start of a chase that spanned three county lines.

The driver, later identified as Harrell, reached speeds of more than 90 mph in some residential areas before turning into an alley near 24th and Fairmount.

Once pulled over, Mosby, who was later identified as the passenger, got out with an “AK 47 style pistol.”

Police ordered Mosby to drop the weapon, but he instead ran into a nearby home before Harrell took off again in the Buick – leading to a tactical team being called to the home.

As Mosby fled the car and encountered a nearby home, prompting a tactical team to respond, Harrell continued the high-speed chase — even after crashing into another vehicle at one of Milwaukee's most heavily trafficked intersections.

While some officers continued the high-speed chase, others stayed to surround the house.

Mosby eventually made it out of the house and surrendered to tactical officers nearly 26 minutes after running inside.

Officers found a mask, a hoodie and the gun Mosby flashed as he got out of the fleeing car after a search.

Meanwhile, the high-speed chase continued even after Harrell drove the Buick into oncoming traffic, eventually crashing into another vehicle at the intersection where 51st Street, Capitol Drive and Fond du Lac Avenue meet.

But even after colliding at the intersection — considered one of the largest and most dangerous intersections in Milwaukee — Harrell continued to flee.

The chase, which covered 37 miles and lasted nearly 36 minutes, finally came to an end when the Buick broke down near 61st and Appleton.

During a search of the car, officers found marijuana, a digital scale and methamphetamine, along with the same firearm that Mosby had previously possessed – all of which were said to be “indicative of street-level drug sales and distribution.”

Both men were arrested on December 29 and charged with various charges.

But Milwaukee County Wisconsin Recently Booked — a Facebook page that shares information about recent arrests in the county with its 38,000 followers — left the Internet lusting after Mosby after he posted his recent mugshot.

Some viewers commented on how ‘cute’ he was, while others shouted for him to be ‘liberated’ from behind bars.

“He’s handsome, damn,” read one comment.

Another added: ‘This little guy was a baby in our day. Just so cute!’

Mosby’s mugshot apparently attracted the same attention as the original “hot thug” – a now 40-year-old Jeremy Meeks who was a former member of the Crips street gang.

The then 30-year-old convict was arrested in 2014 on gun and gang charges after police allegedly found a gun in his trunk during a gang auction called Operation Ceasefire in Stockton, California.

But Meeks became an overnight sensation after local police shared the camera-friendly suspect on their Facebook page.

His mugshot pose, which showed off his chiseled jawline, sharp cheekbones and baby blue eyes, took the internet by storm, spawning thousands of shares, likes, memes and highly suggestive propositions.

The father was in and out of courtrooms in California and Washington for a decade for crimes including resisting arrest, falsifying his identity and grand theft, for which he served two years.

But his arrest in 2014 caught the attention of the world, including the talent agency White Cross Management, which quickly recognized his potential and offered him a modeling contract while he served another 27 months behind bars.

Meeks has since walked the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week and also appeared in campaigns for brands such as Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss.

He also made his feature film debut in 2020 with Trigger on BET+ and appeared in the 2021 independent film Secret Society.

In April 2024, he announced that his memoirs were available for pre-order.

Meeks, who is now a father of two, now uses his widely followed platforms to speak out against crime and violence.

Mosby, the internet’s “hot felon 2.0,” finally made his first court appearance Thursday, where his bond was set at $10,000.

In total, he faces seven charges: possession of a firearm by a convicted offender, possession with intent to deliver THC and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

He also faces charges of failure to comply with an officer, two counts of bail jumping and a misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer.

Harrell made his first court appearance on the same day, but his bail was set at a much higher $50,000.

He faces five charges in connection with the incident: two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, fleeing a vehicle operator resulting in property damage, and possession with intent to deliver both THC and methamphetamine.
