Horror as worker, 31, is killed at Cleanaway Lucas Heights Landfill

A recycling facility has been closed until further notice following the tragic death of a young employee at the site.

Emergency services arrived at the Cleanaway Lucas Heights landfill in Sydney’s south around 12pm on Tuesday after reports a man had been injured.

The 31-year-old man died on the spot, despite desperate attempts to resuscitate him.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

“The incident has been reported to SafeWork NSW,” a police statement said.

According to Cleanaway, the Lucas Heights facility on Little Forest Rd. is a “drop-off and dumping site.”
