Horror as woman dies after found with burns in the stairwell of a unit block in Sydney

A woman has died after emergency services found her in a stairwell with burns to her body.

Emergency services found the woman, 44, about 3pm on Monday after she was called to a unit complex on Vicliffe Ave in Sydney’s south-west.

After being treated at the scene for burns, the woman was transported to Concord Hospital, where she died later that day.

The woman has yet to be formally identified.

Campsie Police Area Command has established a crime scene and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
