A teenager has died after being found with fatal stab wounds on a popular Melbourne beach.
The terrifying scenes unfolded on Sunday as bathers enjoyed the city’s hottest day of the year since January.
Emergency services were called to St Kilda beach shortly after 7:30pm following reports of people fighting.
An 18-year-old was found on the beach near Pier Road with multiple stab wounds.
Teenager Tarneit, from west Melbourne, was rushed to hospital but later died.

Horrified onlookers enjoying a night by the water at the tourist hotspot said uniformed, plain-clothes police officers descended on the gruesome scene “very quickly”.
It has not yet been formally identified.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

There were policemen everywhere. It was crazy,” a St Kilda regular told the Herald Sun.
