- Emergency services performed CPR, but the man could not be saved
- Several streets in the area have now been closed
A man was stabbed to death on a busy street near a popular restaurant.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of a crash on Marrickville Road in Marrickville in Sydney’s west at around 7.40pm on Monday following reports of a stabbing.
Police and paramedics performed CPR on the injured man outside a Guzman Y Gomez restaurant, but he could not be revived and died at the scene.
The incident led to emotional scenes. People who knew the dead man wanted to see him and had to be stopped by officers. One man was even shot with a taser.
After a heated argument, several other men were taken away and the area was cordoned off.
