Horror in paradise as foot washes up on Bali beach – before grim truth of severed limb is revealed

A severed foot washed up on a popular tourist beach was thrown into the sea by a diabetic who had part of his leg amputated.

The human remains appeared on the shore of Penimbangan Beach, near Singaraja in northern Bali, at 4pm on Friday.

The gruesome discovery was made by a local student who found the right foot wrapped in a yellow plastic bag.

A Buleleng local police spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that the body part that mysteriously turned up at the scene was indeed a human foot.

Authorities took the body part for examination after their on-site investigation.

“To ensure accuracy, the right foot was temporarily secured and transferred to Buleleng Regional Hospital for identification,” Darma said. Coconuts Bali.

After the foot was handed over to medical staff, it has now been revealed that the body part was amputated by a diabetic patient who underwent the surgery in hospital.

The foot belonged to a 76-year-old man who lives in Tajun village, about 30km east of Penimbangan Beach.

Relatives of the man, identified only by his initials MG, are said to have thrown the severed limb into the water.

Police confirmed the origin of the foot after it was traced back to the man.

There are several medical reasons why patients may need to have part of their body removed, mainly arms and legs, including complications due to diabetes.

The disease occurs due to an imbalance in the sugar levels in the blood of individuals.

More than a million Australians are living with the medical condition as of 2021.

Penimbangan Beach is a popular tourist destination in Bali’s Buleleng Regency, but is more commonly visited by locals.

The area is known for its picturesque sunsets and water activities such as canoeing, while several food stalls line the beach’s shoreline.
