Horror day on South Australia’s roads as two die in separate crashes
South Australia has marked a horror Sunday on the roads, with two men killed in separate accidents.
The carnage began early on Sunday morning at about 3.45am, with police and emergency services called to Port Wakefield Highway near Waterloo Corner, north of Adelaide, to reports that a car had crashed into a light pole and then a tree.
A 27-year-old man from Elizabeth North died in the crash, police said, while Major Crash investigators closed the highway for several hours.

The man’s death marked the 67th life lost on the road in South Australia in 2024.
Later at Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills, a man on a motorcycle crashed at the intersection of Kerr Road and Beaumont Road about 1pm.
The 48-year-old man from Greenhill died at the scene, police said, and his death marked the 68th life lost on the roads to date.
