A woman has died and a child has been seriously injured after a horrific single-vehicle accident in the Victoria region.
Investigators were told that a car was traveling down Rosedale Flynns Creek Road in Flynn, Gippsland, about 7:50 p.m. Monday night when the driver lost control.
The car went off the road and crashed into trees.
The female passenger died on the spot.
A child who was also in the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The male driver was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.
The detectives of the Major Collision Investigation Unit investigate the circumstances of the accident.
Investigators spent the night investigating the cordoned off scene and remain there Tuesday morning.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
The woman’s death will bring the toll in Victoria to 114 in 2023, up from 86 at the same time last year.
Police are now investigating the cause of the fatal accident
