An amusement park ride collapsed at a busy Christmas market in Mexico, injuring two as terrified witnesses tried to flee the wreckage.
Video of the collapse at the Acapulco Golf Club Monday night showed the Eiffel Tower cable car ride tipping over and eventually crashing to the ground.
You can see one of the cable cars on the line broke off when the structure fell.
Aldo Maldonado, a 35-year-old visiting from Mexico City, and Iván Gómez, also 35 and an Acapulco resident, were treated at the scene by paramedics and rushed to Acqua Acapulco hospital, Mexican news outlet Milenio reported. .
Maldonado’s and Gómez’s reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were in stable condition.
The Integrated Risk Management Department of the State of Guerrero and the Civil Protection sent investigators to the stock exchange shortly after the accident.
They discovered that the tower was not properly anchored to the ground and that it had been erected without a support mechanism.
They also found that tower and other machine rides were not operating according to guidelines.
Authorities have cordoned off the accident scene as part of the investigation.

Despite the lax security measures, officers allowed the rest of the rides to proceed as normal.
Some social media users were not surprised that the fair was allowed to remain open.
‘Foreign? No. They never inspect those games much less authorize them after bribery,” one person commented.
“Stop using mechanical rides,” said another. ‘I think that governments and municipalities should certify every journey (just like they close a company) and put a seal (name and signature). There is no seal. It’s not safe. And if it doesn’t work out, we know who to complain to!’
